Why is Kelly Kulick bowling
« on: January 21, 2010, 02:08:58 PM »
Why is she in the TOC?  I know she is a great bowler, but she never won a PBA tournament.  She might have won a women's series event/major, but I just don't get why they put her in there.

All the other guys in the TOC had to defeat some of their fellow competitors at some point to earn a spot.  But Kulick never won a title bowling against any of the other TOC bowlers.  She beat a bunch of women in the Women's World Championship at the WSOB.

Saw this coming.  Almost unfair to Barnes. The lanes broke down leading up to the final match, and Kulick was definitely lined up. Barnes did not have a chance, as he did not have time to figure the lanes out.

Great Bowling Kelley.

Now you guys all know why she was bowling.....to even try to rationalize an argument that she was undeserving is asinine.

But for those that did today was your enlightenment.

she deserved that win, barnes didnt stand a chance after i saw him throw that first ball of the match, and i loved watching him leave an 8 pin.  Kulick wanted it more plain and simple and she went out and got it

I'm not an EXPERT nor am I a coach .. but I thought he didn't go through his NORMAL SET UP right from the start! Thought he was a little faster then normal. That was only an observation and my opinion .. even at that every ball was in the pocket ..he just got OUT SHOT!

This whole thing has been beaten like a dead horse.   The USBC is a money wasting, sham of a organization where everyone that works for them reaps the benefits of your dollar.  You get the same old rules and rule enforcement and nothing ever changes to benefit the bowler.

The comments of this thread and others have inspired me.  I knew the negativity of some people based on jealousy or *whatever* the feeling for starting/posting things in threads like this was pretty bad but never thought it would get to this.  This board...like Token watching Lord of the Rings, I'm out.  See ya.  All of you who are taking away from the accomplishments of an *individual* regardless of sex, doing something you will NEVER, EVER do, should be ashamed of yourselves.

Guess everyone now knows WHY she was bowling.......right?
Not only did she earn the right, but she deserved to be there.
It'll be great to see her her kick some male butt during the next
2 years on the PBA Tour......just AWESOME!

The number of misogynists and just plain misanthropes in this sport is disgusting. Where do they all come from?  What sort of upbringing creates such people?

Oh brother....
Well yesterday she beat some guy named Mika and another guy named Chris... Both of them are great bowlers,  really it was in all the papers...

Even though she got into the TOC based on a victory in a women's event, she had to bowl against MEN to get into the final 4...

No free pass there....

And then she had to beat Mika and Chris, who just might end up, "bowler of the year"   so to me,  she belongs................

Nice bowling Kelly

wild guess,  you "ain't" into women's golf either...

She whooped the pants off of everyone and although barnes did not choke. Kelly earned it. You cant call it a choke when she shoots like 260+

Oh please, give that a rest...

The leader always has to face a shot that may have broken down....

He had about 10 minutes to practice on that pair...

A good bowler adjust...

265 - 195....  ouch

Barnes is not a "Good Bowler" like you JLS. The ten minutes was obviously not enough time for him to adjust.

jls,

1- Barnes qualified first in the TOC, so he DOESN'T suck! (and I'm not a Barnes fan.)

2- Final score was 265-195, so don't jip Kelly of a stick.

The stuff you say about adjusting is correct, however, often times a bowler that just bowled one game, as was the case with Kelly, has a looser armswing and is able to better conquer the lanes.

I understand all the praise you're heaping at Kelly, but Barnes doesn't deserve the bashing.

Not bashing him,,, but when someone comes on and says "poor Barnes"  he had to bowl on that shot, etc etc etc...

GROW UP already...

The step ladder has been used for years and years...

And many times the leader has won....Really, it was in all the papers...

So it's total B.S. when someone says he lost due to the fact that he had to bowl last...  Give me a break,   that was just a plain stupid remark...

He had boo koo time to practice on that shot....

Not saying Barnes sucks....Yes he did lead the event...

He just sucked real bad on this show... 265 - 195.... That sucking...

But to down play her victory, because the hook hotdog got his butt handed to him,  is just plain ignorant...

And after all, >>>> according to Barnes.... This shot favored him,, cause it was a tough shot and it suits his game... cause he can adjust...

Ya Right.....

It really seems that a women winning has hurt the ego of some of you PBA boys....

Now man up and give her a "well done"

And face the truth, that Barnes Sucked on the show....3 ball changes in 10 frames....195,  that's sucking....Especially when your opponent fires a 265...

But did you notice,, on the next show, on the desert,  he was a stud............

Dumbest stupidest excuse I have ever heard...

Now give it a rest...

That's like a golfer playing in the morning with high winds complaining that the guys in the afternoon had better condition's...

What is this, "pre school"

He is a professional,  who on this day, got lost.... and made poor adjustments..

Plain and simple...

now

are we clear

JLS,

It was obvious that Barnes was lost on the shot. With more time, perhaps a couple a games under his belt, do you think for a second that he would have shot 195. Probably not, right?

I did not criticize the stepladder format, nor am I pitying Barnes. Just stated an opinion, based on my observation and analysis. The fact that the stepladder format has been around for years does not add too or take away from my observation. Often time, the bowler that works his way down the ladder has a better feel for the lanes than the number one seed. If you have trouble comprehending that, there is not much else I can say to help you understand. If you disagree, then that is fine.

On another matter, why do you see fit to make a personal attack on me or on Barnes for that matter. This is just bowling. You do not know me and I doubt that you know Barnes. To make matters worse, you charade around on this site without even bothering to post a fake profile. Do you have something to hide??

At any rate, your personal attacks are uncalled for and take away from anything worthwhile you might otherwise have to say.
