I always enjoy reading the blog.  I found it interesting that you mentioned nothing good could come from the USC for you.  With you having the average record and all, and I'm sure a lot of people expected big things.  If it wasn't a true THS, then what is the point?  I would have loved to see a true carry festival!

I agree that the Ultimate Scoring Championship was lame.  Whatever the reason was behind it, it didn't prove anything at all.  Some people scored high, some didn't.  There is no difference between any other week of the PBA.  The scores on TV were nothing special, as we see those scores again, pretty much every week.  If they really want to show how easy a THS is, do a special during the telecast.  Have one of the pros that can split boards throw the ball down the middle, then to the gutter, and everywhere in between and throw strikes.  Heck, have Randy P do it.  He can throw the ball better than a lot of the guys that are on the tour now anyways.

Also found it interesting is how you mentioned that the tour patterns have been tweaked, and the PBAX leagues people bowl on are nothing like you guys are seeing.  The PBA and USBC have been pushing these leagues so hard, so why would they change the patterns for you guys for not for us?  I mean I realize the patterns we see wouldn't play exactly like the patterns you guys see, due to actual stripping and double stripping or whatever it is they do for PBA play, but it doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't change our patterns too?

Oh well, anyways Jeff thanks for posting your thoughts.  I enjoy reading all about each game, and what ball you used, and what you were seeing out there.

Best of luck the rest of the way!

For those of you that are interested in getting some coaching, please check out the online coaching section of the website. You can upload video from wherever you are to our servers, and i can download it from wherever i am and put a lesson package together for you and send it back on a voiceover DVD. We also offer help with your PBA experience leagues as well

Also, for those of you interested in having a custom arsenal put together for you, including layouts and surface preps....visit the "Whats in Your Bag" section of the website. Take a look at the sample to get an idea on what all you receive in the package.

If you're interested in anything, feel free to follow the instructions...or email me with any questions you may have. Thanks, JC

Spider - no matter what patterns the USBC publishes, there is no real way to duplicate what we bowl on. There are so many variables that it just isnt possible. You have :
Bowlers Rev-Rate
Moving pairs every game breaks each pair down differently
Lane Surface
Climate
Lane Machine
Lane Oil
Lane Maintenance procedures
Bowling Center Characteristics

Thats why when people compare "strategies" on how to play patterns, it can sometimes be a total waste of time. If you ask for advice on how to play Scorpion in your league, and you bowl on brand new Pro-Anvilhang with a Brunswick machine....and somebody chimes in that they play it "X" way, and they bowl on old wood with a wick maching ( or even HPL with a Kegel machine ) you're going to see dramatic differences.

Plus our patterns are continually "tweaked"...dont ask me why but they always are. It's just the way it is i guess
