Title: World Championship: In the Bag
Post by: Necromancer on March 27, 2007, 12:42:14 AM
I missed the show because I was at the Greensburg Open but I found it surprising that Chris Barnes would use a Messenger Ti Pearl on the show.  There is certainly nothing wrong with Messengers since I have had mine since 1998 or 1999 and it still works well.  I am just surprised he chose that over everything else Columbia 300 can offer.  Maybe this is due to Ebonite buying them out or something.

I am glad to see the Black Widow used by 2 of the 4, including the champion Kent.  Also glad to see the champs footwear is the same as mine - Dexter.  It seems like I got the pros equipment, now I just need to start bowling like one.

Storm X-Factor Vertigo
Hammer Black Widow
Lane #1 Cobalt Bomb Solid
Storm Trauma ER
Storm Recharge
Ebonite Vortex Afterburner
Columbia 300 Messenger Ti
Storm Hit Blue Pearl
Ebonite 14 Fun Ball
Total Season Average: 205.642
2007 Year Average: 212.861
2007 Tournament Average: 161.500
The Vertigo is the best ball Storm ever made.  Find one if you can.
I might have the strongest drilled Black Widow in history.

Chris Barnes could throw strikes in his socks using the box that the Messenger came in.  More proof that success is based more on the indian than the arrow.

On edit-  I forgot to mention, his switching to the Messenger may have been what cost him the title, see the other thread "What was Barnes thinking?".

Remember what they said when there was a Stormfest on last week's show:

It's the bowler, not the ball.
