does anyone remember which pba telecast it was when tommy jones started his approach from the front of the ball return on the right lane and did his normal approach on the left lane?

Nope, 2006 US Open.  Not quite as far left as Mike Fagan, but farther left than Ryan Shafer, who lost yet another title match on TV.

If you want to see loft, you might want to check out PA's first win in the '01 Greater Detroit Open, where Robert Smith lofts the channel for most of the show.  Also Ryan Shafer's last win at the '03 Empire State Classic (pretty sure).  Or the Etonic Championship from this past season with Pete Weber and Doug Kent in the title match.

I remember that one.  Smith was throwing a storm Too Hot from wayyyyyyy in.  It was awesome!

On edit, the us open wasn't the first time jones has been three-steppin' in front of the ball return on tv.  If i remember correctly, his second title win he was throwing a blue ice.

That was the '04 Denver Open when he beat Voss.  The oil broke down bad by the title match and TJ switched balls and played the same line, deep but not that deep, while Voss tried to adjust with the same ball and just couldn't get a good reaction.

Check out Robert Smith in the 06 Japan Cup on the right lane. God! How does he do it?
