World Championships

As horrible as the WSOB is I am actually looking forward to the World Championships. A lot of big names in the TV Finals and 3 different episodes should be intriguing. Maybe this tournament can make the WSOB worth it a little.

Oh yea, all "big" names that are either boring (O''Neill, Mika), obnoxious (Rash), cry babies (Barnes, Malott), or so called "two handed sensations" (Belmonte, Osku). Looks like the PBA got its wish by getting these "superstars" on the show by lowering the oil volume throughout the WSOB, giving all these bowlers a huge advantage. Bowlers like Duke, Voss, and Weber have a tougher time lofting the left gutter past the arrows like some of these guys can. That is not bowling. They complained about them hooking too much last WSOB, so why not lower the oil volume more! Another grand idea by the PBA.

Tom Clark, go home. All you care about is looking good and just sucking as much money as you can out of the PBA to pad your pockets.

Aren't Duke, Voss and Weber all over 48 years old?

And your point is what? that nobody over 30 can bowl anymore?

These "shows" suck big time. I turned it off Sunday, just was not interested in watching two grown men throw the ball with both hands. If that is the future of the PBA let it die now!!!

My daughter's highschool team has 4 two handers (1 lefty) and 1 conventional bowler. The problem is the 4 two handers never learned how to bowl and then went to the two hands to create power. They are not accurate, cannot put their thumb in or throw the ball straight to pick up spares. The conventional bowler is a Freshman who is about a 200 ave bowler and he has the other 4 beat by 40 pins apiece. Moral of the story is that the kids see Belmonte and Osku and stop learning how to bowl just to try and create tons of power and on a highschool sport shot my daughter, who throws the ball almost dead straight, beats the 4 two handers consistantly. 6 spares and 3 strikes are better than 5 strikes and no spares

Two-handed is just a slightly accelerated version of a Robert Smith -- sometimes power dominates, sometimes it's a detriment.

Eventually, someone will master BOTH styles and be the greatest bowler in the world by a mile.

If I was a kid starting now I'd be trying to learn BOTH. Never thought of it in the early 1970s!

We have a youth in the Central Florida area that already does this and should be going to UCF or Webber depending on grades of course.
