CK Moore vs. Butch Soper

Was Butch tossing a Flare?

Moore was using a Omega/R it appears...

Just a hobby... not like I ever plan on owning something that old anymore.  Though I did manage to find a NIB Quantum Helix this past summer.

I thought that Butch was throwing either the Flare or maybe a Sensor/C Copper.  Going with the engraving color I leaned toward the Flare.

Interesting to see something with that much flare/differential being thrown nearly directly at the pocket.

Butch threw EVERYTHING direct at the pocket, regardless of ball or lane condition!  He did it pretty darn good, too!

Soper is king of the frozen rope so everything goes straight. Works though.

The sensor/C copper was much lighter in color than the Flare. And a much better ball as it was actually useful on dry lanes. The light blue semsor was pretty good too.

Quantum Helix - now there's a ball with history. That ball was so goofy that B'wick had to "threaten" it's staff in order to finally get it on TV. Or at least that's the story. The red stripe looked better than the gold IMO.

I've also been told that of the two the Red Blue was the better ball.  I'm sure that might be related to the core design.  I think the higher RG core design kept it on the stripe longer.

Butch is a unique player. Throwing the ball striaght and a spinner in a way was
always interesting to watch. I just remember his shooting 300 with that gold Rhino, hee he. But he did kick butt with Track back then.
