He's still having a good year, hes 2nd on the points list before this week. We haven't seen the last of him this season, I think he'll win another title by the end of the year.

What happened was this.  He threw a 110 in a match play game a few months ago.  Brian and I felt that was totally inexcusable for a professional of Tommy's caliber.  We were embarrassed that he bowled so poorly, so we met him outside and kicked him in the face.  After that, he just couldn't handle the shame of bowling a 110 and put his right hand in the ball return.  When he started screaming like a little girl, we had no choice but to put him out of his misery.

Did he really bowl a 110?  I don't remember this happening and I scanned through all the scores for this year of bowling for him on this site.  Are you for real?

I was in Reno when Tommy shot 110 in Match Play becuause I bowled the PTQ and was there the next week for Team USA.  He was bowling Loschetter and Tommy already had lost the game so he went through probably 4 or 5 balls to try and find a different look that game since Chris had already won the game.  I think every ball he threw didn't work and he split probably 6 or 7 times that game and didn't go for the split but was just trying to find a look.  Wouldn't you do the same thing if you knew your opponent had already beat you that game?

It only makes sense to not worry about count but worry about finding something for the rest of the match.  Tommy then found a look and almost came back and won the match.  So when you see a pro bowl a bad game they are probably trying stuff to find a look for the rest of the match.

If I remember right, TJ was down 50+ pins before the fifth frame.  Loschetter looked like he was going to shoot 250.  TJ still didn't win the match, but he came back and gave Loschetter a run for his money.

I found the scoresheet for that match.  Game 2.

He will be heard from again before the year is over. I expect him to win 2 times this year.

Cheers for the scoresheet Shelley. TJ bowled an 110, that makes me feel soo much better!

He probably was just trying out things since the game was pretty much over by the fifth frame.

Anyway, TJ will be back!

Yes,I find it inexusable that a professional much like someone as great as he is could bowl such a game. It's a product though of the downside of this bracket match play. You attempt getting lined up for 6 frames in Round Robin your going to end up in last place. Tommy has bowled terrific this season. If the lane conditions were not so soft this season we wouldn't have 8 potential POY bowlers currently would we? Tommy had a terrific tournament in Las Vegas. I really look for him to shine in El Paso on Pattern C so watch out! I still believe before the season started he would end up POY and still believe that. I look forward to seeing him and the PBA in Irving, it will be a blast.
