I just ordered Xtra Frames today so I can watch bowlers I want who don't happen to show up on Sunday telecasts. I could care less about scores. I can find any local doofus put up high scores in any local tournament. I want freak-like skill.
So Xtra Frames is good and all until it blacks out on you. I much prefer watching them bowl in the rounds before the Sunday show. They bowl like I bowl - roll, strike, switch lanes, roll again.
With TJ losing the 7th game, we got:
-Mike Scroggins-who reminds me of every left hand bowler I have ever seen in my life
-Bill O'Neill-who I never heard of
-Anthony LaCaze-who I never heard of
-WRW-zzz...zzz....zzz....
Well I guess my only complaint is Scroggins. I have always complained about having new guys on the show and there are 2 this week. But I really want to see Robert Smith or Tommy Jones make it to the show.

Sounds like you just want the big boomers to make the show...well I for one am very excited that Billy O'neill made the show, he could be one of the next big forces on tour. And it's always exciting to see somebody new make a show - Anthony La Caze.
I think it'll be a pretty decent telecast...of course there would have been a little more excitement with TJ on the show, but you can't win em all.

I'll take Scroggins over you any day. I am looking forward to some fresh faces on TV this week (even though O'Neill was on before when Machuga won). Not a big fan of WRW, but it should be an entertaining show nonetheless.

Sorry, what did you say? I was too busy being impressed by your 178.029 tournament average last year and got distracted wondering why you didn't enter the TQR this week.

A.LaCaze is a local guy from Illinois. He's a very good bowler! He puts a pretty good amount of hand into the ball and is very accurate! I hope he wins!
-
I don't get it. 3 out of the 4 outcomes makes history. Either Walter Ray extends his PBA title string, or 1 of 2 bowlers win their first title. Either is record setting or history making. Or Mike Scroggins wins. And Mike Scroggins is a good bowler, so where is the downer?
Or would you rather have Chris Barnes be in the Scroggins spot so you could complain about him win or lose? And he is fantastic too. Please, let's celebrate the accomplishments of those who are out there trying their best and let the best shine through. My only regret is that they don't get a bigger payout at the end of the week.

I think it should be a pretty good show. I don't care for WRW, but he's on TV again for a reason. I've always liked Scroggins and he's a Roto guy so that's fine with me. O'Neill throws a great ball and is a future star. LaCaze is an Illinois guy so I'm excited to see his game. I think Scroggins will take it.

I guess he only likes guys that can put a lot of revs on the ball? If that's the case then he should like this Sunday's show. O'neill has plenty of revs as does LaCaze.
To each his own I guess. I feel this show is going to be fun to watch.
-
I personally can't wait for this show. From what I've been told, Billy and LaCaze are the best of friends, so it will be cool to watch them duke it out in the semis. I also hear that LaCaze is an absolute riot, so this could be a non-stop comedy show if Anthony bowls well and advances to the title match. I hate WRW, but you gotta respect what the man's accomplished, and as for Scroggins, I just look forward to watching him whiff a couple 7 pins.

Im OK with everybody but Scroggins. Hes lefthanded, ugly, terrible(but lefthanded), boring, and did I mention hes a lefty?
O'niell is solid, WRW...whatever he is what he is, Lacaze from what I hear throws it good but dresses like a slob. So we'll see if he can get his act together on the show. I'll be pulling for either Lacaze or O'niell!

Hey Necromancer, clarify one thing for me, ok?
Did you buy Xtra Frames or did your parents buy it for you to shut you up?
Personally, I think he bought it because they show cartoons in between rounds.
Yes, I can just hear little Necro watching Xtra Frames now...

Personally, I bowl with Billy O'neill in leagues. Dude, he's nicknamed the "Real Deal" for a reason, he's a beast. Billy is one of the most approachable people I have ever bowled with. He is a great guy. I can see he and WRW in the final. Believe me if Billy gets on he's unbeatable. This is coming from a huge WRW fan and a guy that has been taking to school by him tons of times. Good Luck Billy!!!!

Necro, you need to get a grip.
What is so wrong with the contestants on the upcoming telecast?
Watching WRW, whether you like him or not, is history in the making.
Scroggins, to you and to those that disparage his spare shooting (he's gotta be a pretty decent spare shooter, for if he wasn't he wouldn't have averaged 256.8 in one season in league), is one of the top 5 bowlers in the world, so he's gonna be making lots of shows and winning some too.
Then you have Bill O'Neil, and you being such a know-it-all have never heard of him.
And to top it off there's a newcomer, Anthony LaCaze who happens to have ton of game and is great friends with O'Neil (O'Neil was his best man).
Like others have stated, there is much to look forward to on this show: a couple of proven veterans and a couple of young guns.
Should be interesting to see who'll prevail.
Your posts are always antagonistic and denigrating.
Why is that???
Are you that unhappy with yourself???

Clearly understood.
However, to some, measuring this way might make it easier to read differences in measurements--not everyone is that comfortable with numbers.

necromancer, mike scroggins reminds you of every other lefthander you've seen ? evidently you've never seen jason couch bowl, have you ?
you've never heard of bill o'neill ? a great collegian and he's bowled for a pba title. a great younger player.
i can see where you may not have heard of anthony lacaze.
walter ray puts you to sleep ? when you watch him you are watching history----the best to ever play the game. you wouldn't say that about tiger woods would you ?

Geez, if you really want to see Robert Smith and Tommy Jones, go to your local house on league night and watch everybody crank the hell out of the ball.
-
How you could say seeing these guys going up against WRW will not lead to an interesting story?

I can see where WRW gets boring to watch. Red ball up 5 isn't exciting. It's nice to see people play lines different from their "norm". Heck even Duke swings a little when he has too.
I thought it was last year or maybe the year before that where WRW was on TV hooking it while the rest of the field was lefties playing straight.
Wasn't that the Dick Weber open? Maybe I am getting it confused.
Also red ball up 5 is interesting to watch because he seems to somehow beat everyone else. It's also interesting for a similar player to watch and see what kind of adjustments he makes. I know that style isn't trendy but it works...

I'm tired of seeing this 'interesting story' and as much as I like WRW, IMO I don't think he could of won this many titles without the Exempt Tour. Not taking anything away, but to me it is like Michael Jordan and the Bulls only having to play the playoffs from the Eastern Conference Finals to the Championship while everyone else has to go through all the other rounds.
Anyways... 15 minutes until showtime!!!

I've seen Jason Couch bowl in person. I was talking about how Scroggins has no power and is all finesse. Tiger Woods is the best!

Except, oh wait, didn't WRW win a crapload of events before the exempt tour began? You're so full of crap it's a miracle you can walk straight.
Maybe you should actually watch WRW for a change. You might actually learn something about how to be a good bowler since he's one of the best ever.

Necro-romancer,
It's becoming glaringly and sadly apparent that you're clueless about bowling and bowlers, and seemingly everything else you post about.
If trying to get attention is your goal when you post, at least you're able to accomplish that, albeit not graciously or favorably.
By the way, the PBA has gone to an all-exempt field for about 5 seasons, and Walter Ray Williams Jr. had already amassed the majority of his titles, had earned several Player of The Year awards and had been regarded the greatest player on the planet for many years already.
Suggestion for you: think, research and ascertain before you post something.
You can do it.

I just post my opinion. No I don't follow every single bowler that bowls in every tournament. I don't take bowling as serious as some of you guys. As for attention, I don't care what anyone thinks. If I wanted attention I would have a lot more posts in the 7+ years I've been here. I got like less than 1000 posts total. For you math guys out there, that is less than 0.5 posts/day. So yeah, I just need the attention... yeah right LOL.
I know more about bowling than most here, maybe not so much about bowlers, since I'd rather focus on bowling more hehe. But since I don't bowl seriously anymore, I just have fun with bowling in leagues.

You really believe that if Walter had to bowl PTQs he wouldn't have as many titles? Really? He's already beating the exempt field, beating the lower level ptq qualifiers would be a lot easier.
-
WRW plays the outside because he probably feels like thats the best spot to score for him right? We all know this! The name of the game is knocking the pins down it doesn't matter how as long as they go down.
Don't get me wrong its cool to see guys cover all the boards and the ball goes screaming back to the pocket!!
Just remember strike for show , spare for the doe!!!
