WRW is on fire!
« on: November 09, 2007, 01:37:37 PM »
WRW is on fire!  Three straight shows!  I bet this is the season WRW totally dominates and wins a rediculous amounts of tourney's.

I would like to see him win his 44th title Sunday!

Walter is the most consistent (if not the greatest) right handed bowler ever.  That being said, I like Mike Wolfe's chances Sunday, and hope these two end up in the finals as it will be quite a match!!!

I would actually like to see Barnes and WRW go at it.  I don't remember them ever bowling against each other on TV.  I like Barnes but like WRW better.

There's just something about a bowler that's not text book and plays straight, which is rare in today's game.  Most bowlers today want big revs and to cover a ton of boards.

I prefer the straight and win a lot of titles approach! lol

I wouldn't mind seeing a Barnes vs. WRW match, but I think WRW would crush him, because Barnes tends to be a head case in finals, and WRW is so steady I think he would pummel Barnes.  That being said, my money is on Wolfe this week!  I do agree that the straighter is greater approach to bowling is a lost art, and it is fun to watch when two bowlers go head to head that have polar opposite games!!

I think Barnes would definitely choke it off against WRW.

the last time these two met on tv was the championship game at the 2004 abc masters with williams, jr., winning 268 to 239.

Thanks for the info Greg.  I wasn't sure if they ever bowled against each other on TV.

I don't think any bowler is going to beat WRW this week.  He's bowling as good as he's ever bowled.  WRW could make it to the TV finals 10+ times this season.  My money is on him to win Sunday.

Does anyone know what equipment he was using during the tourney?  I know he was using a couple LEV RG's last week.  There's some pics of them on the Mo Rich forum.

I'm a big Pete Weber fan, but WRW really owns him doesn't he?

as good as walter ray is bowling right now he'll need to be at his best sunday. devaney is tough especially when he can get inside like he can on the scorpion pattern. in the other match mike wolfe was red hot on friday and chris barnes has the ability to play this pattern several different ways---all of them very well.

I agree with you Greg. Devaney is as tough as they come. A little underrated in my opinion.

I like Devaney.  He's got that always-a-bridesmaid thing going on (minus the dress) (err...sorry about that) but does well week-in-week-out.  Kinda like Scroggins, but he seems to get more respect.  Must be the eyes.

Plus, Devaney doesn't say he "threw it like a league bowler" when he throws a bad shot like Scroggins did.  What an a@$!  I am embarrassed to throw the ball with the same hand as Scroggins!  My money is on Wolfe, but I would not be shocked if Devaney took it; The times I have bowled with him, when he can get the carry from the inside angle, look out!!

I wish I threw the ball as good as Mike Scroggins.

He throws it that straight...on purpose!

I never said that Scroggins isn't a good bowler.  I think Scroggins is a very good bowler, and with the way he bowls, he is probably one of the more accurate players on tour, but based on the times I have bowled with him and the way he acts on TV, I have no respect for the man.  Devaney is a classy and funny guy who just needs to catch a break on TV, that all.
