Joe Tessatore will fill in for Dave Ryan this Sunday’s during the live ESPN televised finals of the 2005 Keystone State Championship. Ryan, who will miss this week due to another commitment, will return to his play-by-play duties next week.

Learning the basics of bowling terminology is NOT rocket science. Seems that there could be an online course of the most basic stuff - if the "common tater" can't pass the test at the end, they don't get the check.
How many advertisers and tour sponsors would there be if they knew that half of us watch with no sound?

That was also the game where people were chanting "We want Batch!" (backup QB) and cheered wildly as he was brought in and led the team downfield. After Dre Bly picked off a pass for a TD though, the crowd began chanting "Let's Go Red Wings" which really got the announce team laughing lol
Im glad we get no Dave Ryan, but I hope Norm Duke stops in since he isn't competing. I love listening to him talk bowling. Randy Pedersen, I think the guy is a total jerk, but I have to admit I like his color commentary. He dumbs it down enough to understand for novices, but keeps it entertaining and intelligent enough to enjoy.

That said, I don't know if he's really that knowledgeable about bowling. As much as people rag on Ryan, he at least knows SOMETHING about bowling and since ESPN is not going to hire a Schenkel (sp?) type we might as well make due with what we have.
