Maybe Good News?
« on: September 05, 2003, 05:01:31 AM »
I just received this in my email from Bowlers Journal International's BJ Plus.

quote:
IS PWBA CLOSE TO TRANSFERRING OWNERSHIP?

Today’s edition of the PWBA Regional Report included the following item . . .

<< Negotiations for transfer of ownership of the PWBA National Tour continue every day, and word from Rockford is that a big announcement will be made soon.  Meanwhile, regional events continue, and everyone is looking forward to a new era for women’s pro bowling that we hope will take it to the next level. >>

Hopefully, that “big announcement” will come in time to salvage a schedule of tournaments for 2004.

There was lots of buzz in the industry today regarding the identity of the “transferee,” but at the moment, we can’t confirm that any deal has been signed.

Yeah. Our Regional Status email today said

It’s Almost A Done Deal - Negotiations for transfer of ownership of the PWBA national tour continue every day, and word from Rockford is that a big announcement will be made soon.  Meanwhile, regional events continue, and everyone is looking forward to a new era for women’s pro bowling that we hope will take it to the next level.

I've heard a few rumors, but none I feel comfortable posting yet...

Well I have to be honest I enjoy watching the women bowl more than the men.  Lets face it they play more the lines that typical bowlers like myself would play.  Not only that but they are a heck of a lot nicer to look at no offense intended.

I don't really play cards and I am not 79, but it fits together somehow.

The rumors of a purchaser have been out there since before Terre Haute.  There is, however, one name I keep hearing from multiple sources, and I think it is a name that could properly market the tour...stay tuned

I've think I've heard the same name as you michelle, and it sounds like a great move for the PWBA
