Missy Parkin out
« on: July 25, 2022, 12:55:55 PM »
Missy announced earlier today on a video she had hurt her bowling wrist during the US Open and proceeded to bowl an additional 30 games. Unfortunately her injury has not gotten better and although it sounds not so good, she never reveals what the docs think her injury is at this point. Only thing revealed is she has had 4 specialist look at her wrist and there is a follow-up MRI in a few months, so she is out for the rest of the season (The Luci this weekend and next week's 3 PWBA events in Texas).

Wonder if Missy still using 16# equipment contributed to her injury?

This is going to sound ass backwards, but thankfully this is due to injury, and not anything that would be in disrepute. We all know she's above reproach on that, and that's one of the endearing things about the PWBA. I can't think of a single lady pro who has done anything to throw themselves let alone the game into disrepute.

That said, I'm hoping this isn't severe, because I think of the last lady to have a major bodily injury and seeing how that all but ended what could have been an even bigger career than she already had... that lady being Tammy Turner. if Taminator didn't have that back injury after that 1997 season, she would have been just as dominant on the tour as CDB was also during that time. Yes, she came back some 10-12 years later to win the Queens or US Open, but that time between could have made her career even bigger than what it was.

Hopefully Missy can figure out what's going on and get herself right. And you're right, last I saw she was still using all 16lb gear.. a drop may help.

Injuries are part of sports. What ifs have no meaning.
"If guns kill people, do pencils misspell words?"

"If you don't stand for our flag, then don't expect me to give a damn about your feelings."
