PWBA Announces 2021 Tour Dates
« on: October 28, 2020, 12:31:19 AM »

These just got dropped today, on both the PWBA site and the USBC's Youtube stream.

The TL ; DR of it: three different series of tournaments, More tournament dates, new sites. The dates are as follows:

2021 PWBA TOUR SCHEDULE
With dates, event, center and location (subject to change)

Jan. 18-26, PWBA Kickoff Classic Series, International Training and Research Center, Arlington, Texas
  • Jan. 19-21, PWBA Bowlers Journal Classic
  • Jan. 22-23, PWBA ITRC Classic
  • Jan. 25-26, PWBA Hall of Fame Classic

3 tournaments going on in a single week, at the ITRC.

April 22-24, PWBA Twin Cities Open, Cedarvale Lanes, Eagan, Minn.
April 29-May 1, PWBA Lincoln Open, Sun Valley Lanes, Lincoln, Neb.
May 6-8, PWBA Greater Cleveland Open, Yorktown Lanes, Parma Heights, Ohio
May 12-18, USBC Queens, TBD
May 27-29, PWBA BVL Open, Farmingdale Lanes, Farmingdale, N.Y.
June 3-5, PWBA Albany Open, Kingpin Alley Family Fun Center, Albany, N.Y.
June 10-12, PWBA Greater Nashville Open, Smyrna Bowl, Smyrna, Tenn.
June 17-19, PWBA Louisville Open, Executive Strike and Spare Lanes, Louisville, Ky.
July 29-Aug. 1, PBA/PWBA Striking Against Breast Cancer Mixed Doubles, Copperfield Bowl, Houston

Aug. 2-10, PWBA Summer Classic Series, International Training and Research Center, Arlington, Texas
  • Aug. 3-5, PWBA Go Bowling Classic
  • Aug. 6-7, PWBA International Bowling Campus Classic
  • Aug. 9-10, PWBA BowlTV Classic

Similar to what they did at the ITRC.

Aug. 19-21, PWBA Spokane Open, Lilac Lanes & Casino, Spokane, Wash.
Aug. 24-31, U.S. Women’s Open, Double Decker Lanes, Rohnert Park, Calif.
Oct. 25-Nov. 1, PWBA Fall Classic Series, TBD
  • Oct. 25-27, PWBA Fall Classic
  • Oct. 28-29, PWBA Pepsi Classic
  • Oct. 31-Nov.1, TBD

More dates across the country, but you can see how they've added more to the midwest, while still staying a bit at home in the DFW area. Spokane, Albany, and Smyrna are new. With all the hype from Steve Cook remodeling Fireside so the tour could come back to Sacramento, apparently Rohnert Park beat him out. But that's going to be a long drive for anyone in the SoCal/Vegas Valley area to make the drive up for the tournament. However, I could see the Fall Classic Series being either in Fountain Valley or Vegas. Queens will probably be in Indianapolis, Columbus, or Detroit.

Thoughts?

It's great to see the PWBA up and running again and adding more dates and prize money.  The lack of a television deal is unfortunate.  Sure, all "shows" will be broadcast exclusively on BowlTV.  However, how many people are going to spend another $10/mo on yet another streaming service to watch?

Usbc gets enough of my money, so unfortunately I won't be watching the PWBA next season.

I might be willing to pay $1 per show to watch the finals or something, but I am not going to pay for access to 7 months of BowlTV just to watch the PWBA.
