I was traveling for business yesterdayin Florida and while passing by Orlando I headed to Boardwalk bowl and walked into see some talent! The PWBA Woman's US open.
All I have to say is WOW! The talent level is fantastic. The shot was tight at the corners and tough. Very few spares were missed and yet washouts and splits were frequent due to the slippery corners.
I saw this article!

Was I at the same tournament?! The buzz over the throwing prowess of the assembled 24 talents was about Sandra Gongora from Mexico! What hand! What speed, what effortless power and what a steady head and all from a compact package! NOT EVEN mentioned in the article! Yet look at standing!
http://scores.bowl.com/2018USWO/MatchPlay1.pdfErin McCarthy the leader after games 39 and 40 has similar hand and less speed maybe by choice that day!? I don't know.
Where has this talent been hiding at age 33? (I know the Mexico team as I accessed the PWBA player profile page!).
I am reminded of when I first saw the wonderful powerful Driver golf swing of Minjee Lee at age 18 at a woman's progolf tournament. I wondered when she would win! Now 4 wins on the LPGA!
If you get a chance to see Sandra, or these great bowlers TAKE it! I found this quickly on youtube and felt a throw at 3:04 minute mark was similar to what I saw.
Maybe a straighter backswing today!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKfrTjz1xscI understand, pressure, lane matchups, and match play are all elements of the pro game, but I saw nothing that this girl didn't have today! I compare to one of my favorites Daria Pajek who I watch on YouTube and try to copy her drills. (They don't look as good but I'm learning).
Her revs are in the same zipcode very close to 400 and she has endless effortless speed if she wants it! Kudos to the strong hammer equipment she was using at the end of the day Either the Scandal/S (sanded), or the Rid/D solid(something Blue/Orange and strong) It allowed her to free arm it like none other on the shot and make it look like a house shot!
Keep an eye out for this talent!
Kudos also to bowlers I was very little familiarity with!
1. Jordan Richard(powerhouse winner from last week!)
2. T. Seraus.
3. Liz Kulkin.
4. Missy Parkin who's game I never loved on TV, great in person!
I am dying to see how this all plays out and have my VCR programed to tape Sat the 30th with excitement.
Anyone know where the talent Sandra Gongora has been hiding in relation to the PWBA tour?
