Figured I'd make a real post since the other wasn't going anywhere.

The first 3 matches today looked like the men's first few shows using the sport shot.  Give anyone a bad surface (old, worn out wood with a Guardian overlay), put out a tough shot, and watch the scores drop.

Feldman and DiRupo looked awful the first game.  Feldman wins with a 167 the second.  Johnson had a good look, but can't carry the 10.  She pushes Feldman just enough to motivate her.  Then in the title game, it's a strikefest.  Feldman throws the ball well the first half of the game, then can't keep the ball off of the nose.  Stanbrough is locked in from the start.  I wonder if since the lanes were bad enough to "need" Guardian, and since the overlay takes on the characteristics of the original surface, that Tiffany had a good shot because the left side of the lane was never worn as bad as the right.  If 80-85% of bowlers are right handed, the left side may not have needed the overlay.  If that were the case, I would have expected to see more lefties in the top 5-10.
