What balls were being used?
« on: June 08, 2003, 07:06:46 PM »
Marianne was using two different balls? Track.. which ones?
Lisa Bishop was using a Storm.. blue.. one of the Xfactors?  She changed balls in the last game.
Tiffany was also using a Storm ball.. ???

Nice to see something other than Ebonite, even though I like Ebonite.

It looked Like Marianne was using two differnt mutants. I think that lisa was using the power charge, and Tiffany was using the eraser particle pearl.

Originally, Marianne had a Revmaster for both lanes, but then changed to a Mutant on the left.
Lisa Bishop was using a Power Charge
I thought Tiffany was using an X relaoded.......the graphics on the Eraser Particle Pearl are yellow/gold, the graphics ( I could only get a glimpse of part of the graphics) looked red......so that's why I guessed the X reloaded?

Tiffany's ball looked exactly like my Eraser Particle Pearl.

I think that CDB was using an Optyx Illusion.  Seemed to go real long and have a nice, controlled turn at the end with plenty of hit.  Take care....JS

I thought Lisa was just using a polished Deuce.  It looked like a polished solid rather than a pearl.  But according to Storm's website, it was the Power Charge.  CDB was using the Illusion, Dede was using a Core Power LRG, then switched to a Shock Trauma.  Marianne started with a Revmaster, eventually went to a Mutant on the left lane only.  Tiffy was using the Eraser Particle Pearl.  I think the Reloaded is going to be a lot more flashy.

Hammy nailed it.

I dont know how storm says that was a power charge though... I still think it was a polished deuce as well.

Without having seen the show, I can only offer the additional piece of guidance that much of what you see thrown may no longer be in box condition.  The two spinners get much use before and after a block...

I can say that Lisa was talking about using the Power Charge on Thursday and was discussing drill and cover prep with another member in the paddock after the first block.  I'll try to keep an eye out during the rebroadcast since I missed much of the live show...

Just my opinion on Tiffany, but it looked and acted almost like a TOO HOT. That was the first thought I had when she was throwing it.
I have not really seen any pics of the eraser particle though.

A guy on my team has an Eraser Particle Pearl and I can almost assure you that's what Tiffany was throwing.

Also, with the speed & power she was throwing & considering the stronger equipment everyone else was throwing, I dont think she would get a wrinkle of movement out of a too hot.

What I found interesting was how many of them had "control" drillings with the Cg in the palm & other similar things.

Ah!  That's the other thing I was going to say, Tiffy's ball looked like it had a half inch pin.  There was a closeup of her holding the ball before a shot, and although it wasn't that clear, it looked to be a very small pin.  And is it just me or can lefties play a ton closer to the gutter on their side than the righties can on theirs?  Tiffy and Dede both got nice reaction around 5, and I wager to guess that it's totally unrealistic for a righty to try to play 5 on the same condition.

From the Storm Website........

It was an all Storm Final. Stanbrough used the Storm Eraser Particle and Bishop used the Storm Power Charge.

Hamster...if the shot for the show was anything close to what was out on Thursday, the right side did have an extreme outside shot but there was a) next to no margin for error and b) carry was suspect.  Playing in was the line of choice for most on the right on that surface...even Liz played in during qualifying.

Wow, it really must have been bad then, cause Liz usually points it from around 1st arrow, depending on the conditions.  I thought Tiffy's second shot in the tenth was gonna be a washout, cause she pulled out of it really awkwardly, and it got a board or two outside, but it still came back.
