WIBC Extra Frames
« on: June 16, 2003, 03:26:51 AM »
The WIBC has decided to advance the money to the PWBA to ensure they are able to complete their swing, and that is a very good thing.  WIBC has done a lot for women's bowling and should be applauded, although I question their vote against SMO, but that's a whole other deal.

We have all seen the WIBC Extra Frames segment after the first game of each telecast for the last couple of years.  Due to the content of these features (the meetings, the latest award recognition, etc) am I the only one who sees WIBC Extra Frames as the time to go check the fridge, see what's coming on later or visit the privy?  Maybe the things on there are meaningful to a WIBC member, although my wife doesn't even watch them, but to me they are a bit of a waste of air-time.

I refreshed my cup of coffee & put a roast in the slow cooker this week.

Last week I used the head & checked the mail.

I like the break it gives.

In all seriousness though, I have to say it's nice to give recognition to those great achievers, but I wonder how many viewers they lose during those segments.

All I keep thinking is "Where's the younger leadership?"  I mean even 45 would be younger in most cases!  If most places are like here, the older ones have been doing their "jobs" for years.  They live for it and there is little room for newcomers to find a spot.
