Yi, it burns . .
« on: July 09, 2003, 01:21:53 AM »
I taped last weeks PWBA telecast, and I'm watching it again.  Tennelle has a tongue stud.  Kinda cool.  Tish has a moustache.  Oh well.  Tiffy looks like she races somebody to the foul line.  Fun stuff.  I JUST heard ENTRY OF ANGLE, and rewound it to make sure.  Cara seems kinda prissy, but I'm sure she's nice enough.  They all seem to have about 3 or 4 boards at the breakpoint they can strike from.  Mixer to trip, I mean.  Lol, gotta go to work now, I'll finish this later.

Yeah, Marianne seems really nice.  If she'd just get rid of that axis tilt, that'd help a ton.  Her axis tilt just helps it roll out.  I hate watching a ball that fights to hook.  Cheryl Daniels is another example, she's great, but she has so much side roll that the ball either hooks too early or not enough most of the time.  Add that to the fact that most of the women don't have enough hand to overcome shortcomings in their games, and it's a problem.  Take Danny Wiseman and Pete Weber.  Pete has a lot of side roll, but it's still less than Cheryl, and he makes it work really well.  Danny has axis tilt, but he's got the revs to compensate.  I can't see how Tish gets her ball to hook that much, she throws it pretty fast, and doesn't put much on it at all, and the way that thing snaps, you'd think it was Rudy Revs throwing it.

This is interesting.  A couple of yuts (as my friend pchee2 would call them) proclaiming to know more than multi-titlists and a Hall of Famer who only make their livings from bowling.  I'm sure they appreciate your concern about their game.  Small wonder that the PWBA members on this site have to bite their tongues. Yuts giving advice- what a hoot and a hollar

Jeeze lefty... Let it go man.

Life is too short to hold a stupid grudge like that.

And yes..... you're holding a grudge, otherwise you would have let it go in this thread by now... you haven't.

In addition to the tounge stud, Tiffany also has tatoos on both legs from her ankles to about 1/3 of the way up her calf.

Tattoo's, tongue piercing, pink striped matching hair........OMG what next? LOL
I remember in the early 70's Barry Asher whore sunglasses on a TV final....That was the talk of the bowling alley bars back then, "how could he, blah, blah, blah...anti -establishment were the words spoken then"....Time change and so should we.....The PWBA needs to market a show with caters to our younger demographic....show some flash, excitement, slap off some strikes, play to the crowd, maybe, just maybe take a page from the PBA telecast, it seems to be working for them....I am part of the older demographic that will watch bowling in any form, I personally love the game, but thats me.....I lived through the years of Bo Burton, and now Jan Shmuck.....
Not that I care for the all the accessories....but that just me.....my $.02 worth.....I yield the floor to my fellow brother/sister bowler....

Yeah BJ, it is for real. The stockings she wears on TV cover them up enough that unless you know they are there like I do, you won't notice them. I've watched her bowl here in OKC for years, before she went on the Tour.

Hey 12 Steps, how about Guppy Troup and his pants of each leg a different color, wild colored shirts and sunglasses? Remember him?

Yes, Guppy Troup had a unique sense of individualism, back in the days when everyone else was trying to follow a straight line.  I liked to watch him on the telecasts, just to see what he would come out wearing next.  Speaking of Guppy, he is still active in the SouthEast PBA Regional program.  He hasn't hung up his shoes (or sandals) yet.

Lmao, 12, Jan Shmuck . .  Shocked, dude, relax.  So if we want to talk about Brian Himmler, Walter Ray, or Mike Devaney's "perfect" styles, how about it then?  Himmler wanders the entire approach, Walter Ray heaves the ball at the line and doesn't really follow through, and Devaney is a hard nosed cranker.  They're pretty successful though, how can you argue with that?  Brian Voss has a bent elbow through his entire backswing, is no one supposed to comment on it because he's won a half million titles?  So Marianne Dirupo's ball roll makes me cringe, I never said she wasn't good.  Leanne Barrette probably has one of the uglier styles in all of bowling, men and women, but you can't argue with the success.

Hamster, there's absolutely NOTHING ugly about Leanne, including her bowling style!  Unorthodox yes, ugly no.

And on the 8th day, God created Leanne Barrette.  Then he looked around and admired what he had done.  And it was good.  It was very good...

hello everyone!  Thanks to all who rooted me on to victory.  It was a special win.(it had been a long time)  Yes I do have my tounge pierced and I do have a tattoo.(Nothing big though) I do like to color my hair different colors from time to time and I do like to wear unique apparel. ( I shop at Torrid)  Here is the ironic thing, I also work for the great Barry Asher. He was the first to dress in his own unique sense of style. All others followed him.  Hopefully we will have a fall tour so you all can keep watching.  Thanks again
