Radical has added the Cyclops to their EZ-Use line of bowling balls. This ball is the first to feature their spindle core and is paired with a flip cover to offer a ball at a great price point that will give a great backend reaction. This ball is designed to clear the fronts and give a big backend reaction when used on light to medium oil conditions.

COMMENTS
The Cyclops is the key important bowling ball when you are looking for a ball is drier lane conditions. The Cyclops skids through the fronts and midlane with ease and has a smooth flip motion on the backend. I laid mine out to fill the gap I was missing when bowling on patterns where the flatter on the outside but later in the block when the midlane reads too quick, but you need something to get through and still have a strong motion in the backend, this layout gave this to me. The Cyclops is a ball that will definitely be a gamechanger for typical house shots and tougher tournament shots

Likes: I drilled the Cyclops pin above ring finger with cg directly below. I just wanted a shiny ball to fit in my medium category above the Xeno Pearl. I get about 2-3 boards more than my Xeno pearl drilled the same way, the reaction is more in the backend of the lane compared the my midlane roll I get from the Xeno Pearl.

If you are looking for something with backend for medium to drier conditions this ball is for you.

I did break the surface of the cover with a 4000 by hand because nothing that is shiny seems to work for me without breaking the surface a little bit.

The Radical Cyclops is the perfect benchmark ball for most conditions. I went with my favorite symmetrical layout (Pin under the MF with no hole). The Cyclops has a very predictable ball motion that allows me to control the breakpoint on the typical wet/dry house condition. The ball is strong downlane without being too jumpy off the dry. Although not one of the hook monsters in the Radical lineup, the Cyclops can easily handle higher volumes of oil. The cover also responds well to surface adjustments allowing bowlers to fine tune the ball reaction after drilling. The Cyclops when cobined with the new Cyclops Pearl, provides the perfect one two punch for a wide variety of conditions.

Likes: Picked up this ball because I needed a mid RG tamer piece but was surprised how tame it really is. Oh paper its supposed to be much stronger than my Hustle Ink but so far that is not what I have seen at all. Some of it may be I drilled it pin down (layout B - Length and Arc, diff .036) whereas I went max flare double thumb on the Ink. That said there is one house I now go to that tends be very spotty and lighter oil (which is why I go there, like to practice on different conditions). At least for this house the Cyclops is something special. It was actually handling the conditions better and tamer than my Ogre Urethane spare ball. Ball carries very well for a 3 piece as well. Over and under is very minimal as ball does a great job of not eating the shot and reads the midlane very well and can't beat clearance pricing.

Dislikes: The ball at least for me is not going to turn the corner on most fresh THS without a lot of surface. A re-drilling might fix this but probably won't bother. This ball is probably best for playing down the boards especially for strokers.

(edit: After using this ball for some more months I have actually found it to be remarkably versatile with cover stock changes. It still not meant for the flood but can handle most THS conditions remarkably well for a variety of styles)
