The Radical Katana was named after a Japanese sword that has a curved single edged blade with a long grip. This bowling ball uses an asymmetric core design that really smashes through the pins. Radical feels that this is their most angular high performance ball to date. This core is paired with their Forged coverstock to make this ball very responsive.

This is my 2nd Radical ball and I'm impressed with the performance of the Kantana. I drilled mine 50x 4.5 x40 with a P3 hole. Threw this on a THS in a tournament out the box and shot 246-300-298 = 844, for 9 games I shot 2282. Ball was very clean through the lane with nice strong finish but not jerky. I would recommend if your look for a pearl ball when you solid is too strong and not getting down lane.. Now that's Rad

COMMENTS

The Radical Katana is a outstanding benchmark ball that every bowler HAS to have in their arsenal. The ball is clean through the front and picks up a early midlane read and strong flip in the backend. Laid this one out to complement my Hitman when the Hitman becomes too angular, I can go to the Katana which rolls pretty close and slows down the motion in the backend. The Katana is a must to have in the bag.

COMMENTS
I used my go to drill 45x5-7/8x40 (Pin up). This layout allows the Katana to shine! I've been very happy with the smoothness at which the Katana clears the front part of the lane yet doesn't over react in the mid-lane and then shows its muscle on the backend as it makes its aggressive move off the spot and devours the pins. The Katana is another piece that shows the genius of Phil and Mo.

The Katana is a long and strong skid snap ball for those looking for more backend reaction. This ball is super clean through the front part of the lane with a quick revving core. Once this ball stands up at the breakpoint look out! I think this could be a game changer for the rev challenged looking for more entry angle. The Katana is several feet longer and considerably more angular than the True Nirvana it replaces in my bag. The main difference seems to be the new cleaner cover that was used on the Katana. In spite of the quicker revving core the cleanliness of the overstock allows the ball to maintain its axis rotation longer. I can roll this one more off my hand and not have to worry about the flat ten reaction on the backend. This thing really scatters the pins and also takes surface adjustments well. The Katana can be used anytime there is friction present. There are better choices for fresher slicker patterns like the Kingpin or the More Cash. If your looking for greater entry angle and excellent recovery check out the Katana.

The Katana is simply an outstanding bowling ball. This core and cover are a perfect fit together to create back end motion and hitting power. Mine is drilled 55 x 5 x 65 and that gives me the feel of controllability along with strength.

I use this ball on most everything except heavier longer patterns. But for house shots and medium length sport patterns it works as well as anything I have ever thrown, plus helps to create mistake area downlane.

Phil and Mo have a real winner here, don't miss out on your chance to add this to your arsenal.

15# ball with 3oz of top weight.

Just started playing around with this ball recently. I was having so much fun with my .035 Mag, I had forgotten this was in the bag! Anyway, I have my Katana drilled 55x 5.5x 65. I rarely see long patterns, except at tournaments so no need for a skid/snap reaction.

This ball is long and strong!! I was especially surprised at how clean it is through the fronts and mids. It saves all it's energy for the backend! Long, strong, smooth, but no jerk! I am able to adjust hand positions and get all types of looks with this ball. This past Monday, I played a straighter game with it and carried the world while others were flat tenning like crazy! If I get in and get around this piece I can make it arc smooth and strong on the back. And if I go with my conventional swing release, I get a very powerful but angular look that hits like a whirling dervish!

And the reason I didn't say truck is because this ball really carries well and mixes up the pins, unlike any other ball that I own! Mo and Phil did a great job on this one. Might have to get a couple more!

As they say....."It's Radical!"
