LANE CONDITION

Length:42'

Volume:med

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc):THS

the grease monkey whack is the best out of the monkey line. Easy down lane and loses no power in the pocket. Drilled mine with dual angle layout, 70x2 1/2x60. my speed is med and revs are med./high, playing the lanes left foot on 22 and rolling it over 8 board. gets down the lane about 50ft and walks into the pocket and whack, there goes the pins.
COMMENTS

Likes:easy down lane and great power.

LANE CONDITION

Length: 39 feet

Volume: Medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): Kegel Middle of the Road

COMMENTS

Likes: This ball is an awesome new addition to the Radical line.  This ball has a clean cover that easily gets through the fronts and turns the corner in the backend REALLY HARD.  Pin carry is killer.  Trip four pins, messengers, carry the light hits, this ball is really good when the pattern starts to breakdown.

Dislikes: Heavy oil.  This ball is made for later in the blocks and needs some friction to perform at its best.

Grease Monkey Whack
My Grease Monkey Whack has a Motion hole layout in it. I Love This Ball!  This ball works great after the lanes break down. This ball goes long and hooks on the backend. On the fresh lane conditions it goes through the break point. I think everyone should have one in there bag. Another great addition to the Radical Bowling Technologies. #TeamRadical

LANE CONDITION

Length: 39' USBC Masters

Volume: USBC Masters

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): USBC Masters

COMMENTS

Likes: I drilled one of these up at the Masters. We drilled the ball pin over ring finger and kicked out to 45 degrees. This ball gave me the length I needed on the burn, with enough stored energy to rush hard into the pocket and continued to roll through the pins. This ball is a great ball for transitioning into the later games. I do not get to move right often, but this ball gives me the ability to move right when I would normally be moving left with a more aggressive ball.

Dislikes: Heavy Oil

LANE CONDITION

Length: 39

Volume: medium

Type (THS, Sport Pattern etc): THS

COMMENTS

Likes: The Grease Monkey WHACK is the newest ball is the easy use line, personally my favorite. This ball is great on medium THS or in later games during tournament play when you need the length without sacrificing carry. This ball lets me stay right when the track gets burnt up. Believe me, this ball keeps it all for the backend!! I drilled mine 50x5.5x40. The ball has great shelf appeal and stores a lot of bang for the buck. Another great release from Radical!!

Dislikes: Obviously oïl.

Layout:  Pin down with a motion hole 11” from the pin, motion hole 1” wide.

This ball by far out performs it price range.    The original Monkey core with the new cover stock with enhanced additives is great on medium to dry oil lanes.  They say the gutter is a lefties best friend and this ball surely compliments that saying. The Grease Monkey Whack provides the right amount of length and right when you think it is not going to, it turns the corner hard.   The Grease Monkey Whack is extremely clean in the front part of the lane, allowing energy to be retained to only turn the corner to deliver the “Whack” for which it was named after.   The Grease Monkey Whack will surely help you “whack” your competition.

Drilled my Grease Monkey Whack 55* x 5" x 40*

Wow.  I can't say it enough, the bang for your buck out of the Grease Monkey line, is remarkable.  Now the Whack comes to market and holy cow, what a compliment!!
For me, the Whack is about 3 more boards overall from the POW, but where the POW reads the mid lane and is quite clean at the breakpoint, the Whack provides a massively different look down lane with much more pop!  If you are looking for a ball with much more reaction at the breakpoint and a great continued roll throughout the pin deck, check out the Grease Monkey Whack!!

The cores and covers are matching up so well, it's outstanding.  I'm happy to answer question(s) you might have about any Radical Bowling Technologies bowling ball.  Shoot me an email, chrisheringer@gmail.com

PS - sorry for the blurry image, it's the best I have at this moment.

The Grease Monkey Whack is the latest addition to the EZ-USE line. That ball is very surprinsing considering the price point of the ball. The ball go throught the head really easily but when it comes to the backend, it seems nothing can stop it! It goes throught the pins like I rarely see in a ball in that price point. The Grease Monkey Whack is very versatile. You can play it from the outside part of the lane to a more inside line. You can even play it on a sport short pattern. It's an every-kind-of-player bowling ball and it's a lot of bang for the buck ball.

I drilled mine 60*4.5*40 ans I really love it. that ball comes out of my bag every night when the lanes begins to dry out and I need to play more inside.

Mo and Phil did it again. NOW That's Radical!

Here is the final piece of the Monkey series at Radical, the Grease Monkey Whack.  This ball has the same core as the others balls in the series but the coverstock have been modified to get more length and more back end.

For this ball, I used my favorite drilling for this series, 50x4.25’’x70 with the pin under the ring finger.  I use this drilling for those kind of balls because when I drill them too weak, the ball doesn’t make the turn and I always get an over / under kind of reaction.  All I can say is WOW, that’s Radical.  This ball get through the head easily and have a massive back end.  When I bowl in league or in tournament, I pick this ball at the 2nd or 3rd game when my stronger pieces begin to burn in the heads.  I always find a way to hit the pocket and carry the corners.  The nicest thing with this beast it that I can keep it for a lot a games as long as I follow the transition by moving my feet and my target left.

Compared to the Pow, I play 2 or 3 boards right with my feet and I right at the target.  Compared to the original Grease Monkey, I play 2 boards left with my feet with the same target.  This ball is the perfect complement the previous two.  A serious bowler who wants to build a bag without spending too much must consider those three balls.

I used the box finish for this ball but like all the other Radical covers, the surface can be adjusted easily.  For a bowler with more speed, the surface can be padded with a SIaar 2000 or 1000 and the reaction will still be excellent.

To conclude, if you want to have a lot of back end for your buck, consider the Grease Monkey Whack.

WOW That's Radical

LANE CONDITION

COMMENTS

Great benchmark ball, really rolls true and goes through the pins.  I have it drilled pin under ring finger to tame the backend and to create a smooth predictable roll.

A great choice for bowlers with slower ball speeds who have trouble with massive hooking asymmetricals.  Also great for high rev players who need something to go to at the end of a block.

A very versatile ball that's worth a long look.

I drilled mine with a symmetrical "long" control layout for my release specs.

Tilt : 13*
Axis of Rotation : 50*
Rev Rate: 400 RPM
Ball Speed : 19mph

Layout : `80 / 5 / 45

With this cover and the 500 / Royal Compound / Royal Shine finish this ball glides through the heads with ease. There is little to no mid lane read as long as there is oil. The back end reaction is what tells the whole story with this ball. It saves everything for the break point providing devastating pin action and carry. It goes longer than the other two Grease Monkey's and hooks the most in the back end. Definitely the best ball for the price when looking for a high performance "skid-flip". This ball can hook as much as balls from other companies that are about $80 more. Lots of pros are also using this ball like Parker Bohn III and Johnny Petraglia Sr. This is the perfect ball in my bag for when I need length and back end, just not as much back end as the Yeti Uncaged. (which has tons of back end).

I received this ball as part of Radical’s online drawing on Ballreviews.com. I decided to drill this using the pin up layout.  What I found was a ball that moves with easy through the heads and mid-lanes, then makes a very sharp turn off the dry and kills the pins. This ball off the spot moves just as hard as anything I have in the bag. The typically ball reaction I found on my medium oil pattern is a ball that moves 45-50 feet and stores all the energy for the “whack” the back end movement. I have had quite a few people ask me what this ball was, how much did it cost, and where could they pick up one (Radical isn't stocked in the local pro-shops). I will be picking up another one for the control drill to have a step down for this one. I am very pleased to have this ball in my bag. It fits a need for the lighter oil pattern I typically see.  I can swing when needed. Right now it has earned a spot as the first ball out of my bag. I know what it is going to do and I know what to expect out of it for the conditions I see. If you find yourself needing a ball that is smooth the fronts and mid-lane and all back end reaction check out this ball. I haven’t been able to test this ball on a heavy oil pattern as I never see that in my area. But for mid to dry lanes this ball has worked well.

Let me introduce you to a low end ball that has more hook and for the price point that it is in it’s a ball that you can’t pass on. The brand new Radical Grease Monkey Whack. The first thing you notice is the shelf appeal on this ball, the red and blue swirl and the pearl cover sitting on the wall is going to be huge and you won’t be disappointed when you watch this go down the lane. This ball I was going to compare to my Gold Rhino Pro by Brunswick and the LT-48 by Brunswick. The other two balls have the pin drilled out in my ring finger and the Whack is actually drilled pin down below my bridge. The Whack gets long, but has a ton of back end and just keeps hooking more and more every time I throw this ball. I actually love the length of this ball and it rolls so true that I can read this ball so good to know when it’s time for a change. The original Grease Monkey had a lot of length and was a very good ball for someone that wanted to play straighter and the POW Grease Monkey was the solid version that would hook up sooner from the original Grease Monkey. The Whack is the ball that will be in the middle where it will add just a little bit of length, but has a lot of back end and would be a great all around ball if you are looking for a ball that will help you get a little more length later on in a set. So if your looking for a great new ball this would be a great addition to anyone bag. If you haven’t tried Radical you won’t be disappointed. #TeamRadical
