Here is the new addition to the reliable line, the Primo. For this ball they used a completly new core with the patented scoop core design. They combined this core with a proven coverstock to create a realy versatile ball.
Because I wanted it to be my benchmark ball, I used one of my favorite drilling on it, 75 x 4 x 60 with the pin in the ring finger and no weight hole.
The box finish is a 500 siaair with a royal compound on it. On the lane, the ball was really predictable in the midlane with a strong continuation through the pins. Compared to the Master, I was 3 right with my feet and 2 with my eyes. Compared to the Rave, I was 2 left with my feet and one with my eyes. Because of the compound, the ball clears the head really well even on lightly burned lanes. I used it after a league and the ball wasn’t over reacting in the front.
The coverstock can be modified easely to suit bowler’s need. For bowler with higher ball speed, the compound can be sanded to get the surface to a 1000 grit or even 500 grit. For bowler with lower ball speed or for bowler who wants to use it on dryer lanes, a factory finish can be applied on the compound to get more length.
To conclude, this ball is a great benchmark. This is the first ball I take out of my bag when I don’t know the lane patern. This is one of the most predictable and versatile I’ve thrown.
