Jackpot Baby!!

Specs: Left Handed, 15 mph, ~400 rev rate, drilled my Jackpot 45*x4x70* (PAP is 4 1/2" over, 1/2" up). This puts the pin below the bridge for me...I needed a weight hole as well. I chose this drilling because I had already drilled my Rave and Rave On with the pin above the fingers. I wanted to add some additional options to the lower end of my arsenal.

This new pearl cover along with drilling the pin down has given me a completely new look. This has allowed me to stay closer to the lower volumes of oil and expect a slightly earlier, cleaner roll, than what I see out of the Rave On. The pearl allows this ball to push and change direction, the weight block controls this change of direction.

For comparison purposes, this can be used whenever I have to ball down from the Rave or Rave On, it could also be used if I need to ball up from my Rack Attack, where I need to read the lanes from front to back. Sometimes length and strong reaction on the back are not the right look for being able to carry all 10 pins in all scenarios. Variety is the spice of life....Variety is also essential if you want to have a chance to always compete at any tournament you go to! The Jackpot is the latest release in the EZ Use Line. I strongly suggest you get yourself one.

The Jackpot is Radical’s newest release in the EZ-USE line.  The EZ-USE line is the same line as the Grease Monkeys and Raves.  While in the same line, this ball doesn’t remind me of any of those other balls.

I was told the Jackpot is a great all purpose controlled motion, so I opted to put the same layout that I used on my all time favorite DV8 Dude.  70x5x80 with a double thumb hole.  This places the pin below my ring finger, and gives me a great all purpose motion.

JACKPOT! This ball is everything it is advertised as and more!  With this layout the Jackpot picks up in the midlane and provides a strong controllable roll.   It is very predictable and can handle much more oil than any of its predecessors in the EZ-USE line.  I have had no problem using it on a higher volume house shot as well as the USBC Open Championships patterns.

The biggest surprise I see in the Jackpot is, while being a pearl, it does not have a typical pearl motion.  It retains energy like a pearl, but is not jumpy like a pearl tends to be.

The biggest shock for me, and the reason I think everyone needs to have a Jackpot in their bag, is on wet/dry patterns it somehow blends the pattern where other balls cannot.  I have missed right numerous times while thinking it would jackknife off the friction, but the Jackpot somehow pushes through the friction and rolls off the spot.

The Jackpot is a great ball for playing up the lanes on wet/dry patterns.  It is very even for a pearlized ball.  This makes it great for second shift leagues when the heads start to go and you need a predictable ball motion.  Very versatile piece.

The Jackpot!!!! What a great benchmark ball with lots of shelf appeal. This ball is in the same price point as the Raves and Grease Monkeys. I drilled mine the same as my Rave on (60x4.75x35) and the Jackpot is about 3-4 boards stronger. On a house shot, I'm 2 boards left with my feet and 2 boards right at the breakpoint. This ball rolls well, impressive for the price point. It fit perfectly between my ridiculous and my Rave On. This will become 1 of my balls that will be the first to come out of the bag in tournaments, real predictable. Wow, that's Radical!!!

Jackpot
I just drilled up this ball. It is very continuous on my house shot. The pearl cover allows it to clear the fronts. It picks up in the meds. And continues on the backend. I have layout of 85x3 1/2x40. I have try it on the usbc nationals patterns 2016. Once the lanes open up. This ball worked pretty good.
Another great addition to the Radical Bowling Technologies line of bowling balls.

Here is the new addition to the Radical EZ-Use line, the Jackpot.  This ball uses a brand new core and a brand new coverstock.  The box finish for this ball is 500 siaar with a royal compound.

For this ball, I used my favorite layout which is 55x4x75 with the pin in the ring finger.  This layout offers myself a smooth and controllable back end.

On the lane, my jackpot fits perfectly between my primo pearl and my rave on.  I played the jackpot 2 and 1 right of my primo and I still was 2 and 1 from my rave on.  The midlane roll is so heavy that I was able to miss left and still have a motion to hit the pocket and carry.  On the other side, when I was missing right, the ball didn’t over react to friction and was still able to hit the pocket and carry.  This heavy midlane roll makes the jackpot the perfect game for the typical house shots.  The roll of this ball reminds me the grease monkey whack or  a hyroad.  For people with more speed or to use on heavier shot, the ball can be sanded to get more surface and more motion.

To conclude, if you want to have the perfect house shot ball at an affordable price, the jackpot is your ball of choice.

The new one in the Radical family, the Jackpot is providing a strong but controllable motion on the lane. The pearl coverstock gives you a better read on the midlane than most of pearl-cover ball in that price point. Plus, even if you are a “low rev, low speed” player or a “power, 2 handed” bowler, that ball will fit your game. That ball complements the Rave line pretty well.

In my case, considering I’m a “Cuba Hooking Jr” type of player, I went with my “go-to” layout and just adjust the pin distance, 60x4.75x40. It fit right between my Ridiculous (50x4.75x70) and Rave (50x5x70). It gives me an earlier read on the lane than my Rave and a bit more overall hook. Comparing to my Ridiculous, it give me a bit less overall hook and a more controllable backend. I kept the OOB surface with a little little scuff because it gives me the midlane I was searching.

Like I said, no matter what type of bowler you are, the Jackpot will fit your game and your arsenal. Now, it’s only you to decide if you want to it the Jackpot or not! Think about it twice. Stay Radical my friends!

The Jackpot is going to be the "bowlers" ball. This is going to be that great league ball that everyone needs. For me, this ball gives me the ability to play the lanes straighter with the length I have been looking for.

For the layout, we went pin over center and kicked 45 degrees.

This was a great ball when the lanes began to break down. I was also able to have a great look with this ball on Cheetah.

This ball will the best go to ball when the lanes become difficult.

I recently acquired a Jackpot in 15 lbs given to me by my online coach.
It was his own ball that he bowled many honor scores with.
He felt this would be the perfect ball for my style of bowling.

My delivery specs are:

-Full Roller
-Low ball speed (11 mph at the pins)
-Low revs (150 rpms)
-Zero Tilt
-90 degree axis rotation
-180 composite average

Because of my low speed and zero tilt my coach gave me a layout for the Jackpot that is the Full Roller equivalent of a 3/4 roller's 80 x 5.25 x 45.

The layout is pin 45 degrees down from center of grip and 1.5" away from center of grip.
Fingers drilled to normal depth.

I tried the Jackpot at 4000 grit polished for starters.
This ball is pretty amazing and versatile.
It gets pretty far up the lane for me but then comes off with a strong continuous move left.
This ball conserves a lot of energy with the low flare layout and carries a lot of strikes even on not so good hits.
My first night in league with the Jackpot I played straight up second arrow all night and finished with a 667 series, my all time high series!
This ball is that good and carries so well.
It really lifted my game.
The Jackpot gave me miss room on either side of my arrow.
If I missed a little right the Jackpot would still get up and then push back to the pocket.
If I missed inside in the oil the Jackpot would sit and then go left through the pocket.
The Jackpot is money!

Here is a video of me throwing the Jackpot so you can see how it works for me:
