I'll be honest, for house shots, this is the new release from Radical I was really anxious to see.  Out of the box, first impressions were that this ball has some crazy shelf appeal.  I think it looks amazing!

Drilled this ball the same as one of my original Yetis for house shots and shorter sport shots.

All I can say is wow, honestly.  This ball was everything I expected but better.  After about 6 frames of game 1 playing around with the Reax Version 2, I pulled this out, moved 5 boards left (I'm left handed), squared the lane up, and just started striking at will.  I don't normally have recovery down lane at Plaza on Wednesdays and hold on the same night, but this ball gave me both.  I could miss left further into the dry a few boards, watch it go through the early hook spot and retain energy until the back end and then just attack it; I could get it in a few boards, watch it sail through the front, but then still hook hard in the back to not leave the weak half-pocket corner pins.

Throwing this ball exclusively for the last half of game 1, the whole of game 2, and on the right lane only in game 3, I had 24/28 strikes and just couldn't miss (until the left lane transitioned at the end of game 2 and I had to ball back up to the Version 2 and move 2 boards back to the right).

VERY VERY happy about this ball, and where it fits.  Its great because when that 1.5" pin original Yeti would see the spot a little soon sometimes and give me more roll through the middle of the lane, this ball gets through that spot and retains energy.  Very excited to see what it looks like on the lower volume sport shots.

Another winner from Radical!

Well I just drilled up my second untamed Yeti. This one has a double thumb layout.
i love it. With the double thumb layout this ball picks up sooner and is continuous through the pins. on a 41 ft. house shot it works great.

COMMENTS

Likes: Ball is very clean through the front with a strong change in direction.

Dislikes: Needs a bit more vloume than most house shots for my rev rate. Most folks are going to flat out love it though.

G'Day Bowling Fans!

In 5 minutes you’ll see what you can expect from the Radical Yeti Untamed.
The Yeti Untamed is the new polished solid version of the Yeti from Radical Bowling Technologies. I’ve taken it up the road to Orange and this ball acquitted itself nicely on the notorious lane 1. (Tricky pair, but good to film on!)

Lane 1 has a tendency to hook early, then burn up on the backend. Even so, the Yeti Untamed looked pretty good on it. It’s got a really sweet motion on the lane and good crisp impact in the deck.

I took it to the wood lanes at Wetherill Park for the Skins on Saturday night and it was the best ball in my bag, allowing me to hook the whole lane or stay up the back of it and play straighter. A very versatile ball.

I have used this ball in league & at tournaments on sport/challenge patterns.
I love the strong, predictable motion from this ball. I trust this ball and get excited when I see enough oil that I can use it.

Dislikes: Too shiny out of box & often too much hook for THS

I liked this ball more when I knocked down the shine with a 3000 pad
Drilled 70 x 4.75 x 30 it hooks a bit too much on THS for me, but definitely has a place in my bag as a step up from my benchmark when I need the backend hook

Comments:
   This is what Chris Barnes calls a 70% ball for me, I can use this ball 70% of the time throughout any day. One of my favorite balls ever was the versa-max and this is the new versa-max to me so if you loved that ball and are looking for the replacement get this and knock off the polish and viola you have the most versatile ball. I used this ball on house shots as well as some Kegel challenge patterns as well as 2013 open championship team pattern and the ball did the same on every pattern, versatility along with strong power through the pin deck.
   Radical's new scoop technology core allows you very versatile drillings without taking out the top part of the cores weight, giving you a taller core providing more transference of power from ball to pins = potential for higher pin carry.

Yeti Untamed drilled 60 x 4 1/2 x 65
This is a great compliment to the Yeti Unleashed. I tweaked the dual angles to allow better recovery on a pattern that has broken down. This ball has a great look going down the lane with the shiny green/black color scheme. This layout works best once I have broken the pattern down with the Yeti Unleashed. If you are bowling on less heavy patterns but still need that extra umph going down the lane.

Likes: This is the best benchmark ball I've had.  This one is clean through the fronts, picks up in the midlane, and continues strong through the pins.  There simply isn't a better benchmark option.
