1st impressions on Guru
« on: December 07, 2014, 03:38:21 PM »
Drilled up a Radical Guru yesterday.
Drilled it stacked with pin above my ring finger with mb next to my thumbhole.
Got 1 practice shot with it at a scratch tournament after I got loosened up with my Gusto.
1st game with Gusto was decent 239.
Switched pairs had one lane tighter than the other.
Ended up trying the Guru.
Finished up with it for 229.
Decided to stay with it as long as possible.
Went 237-279-255-248-258 to win the event.
The ball paid for itself in less than 6 hours.
free agency it is until i get a better offer.   LMAO

I hate going overboard and singing the phrases of equipment, but the Guru is the real deal. I recently cashed in a 50' sport shot tournament using mostly the Guru, and I believed this ball was the difference.

This is one of the few heavy oilers that actually lives up to the hype.

Where was this Mike?  Nice rolling!

Considering a Guru myself for City and State where we will see some volume.

I use a MOtion holed original Yeti and have been very impressed.  Looking at a Gusto or Uncaged for transition burn.

I have one and the ball is great on oil, but my guess is most people won't see enough oil on their house shot to really take advantage of the strength of this ball.
Hit the pocket and hope for the best

I had the pleasure of working with Mo Pinel last week here in MN.  He laid out a Guru for me and had it drilled 30x4-1/4x25 P3 balance hole.  I rarely have room to miss to the right due to my being speed dominant, but this Guru is something special.  I made a big move left of where I was throwing my Mastermind and actually had to swing it (I typically am down and in).  The Guru gave me entry angle I don't usually get.

I tried it on league night, wood lanes, didn't work out too well.  Strong balls with dull covers tend to burn up.  BUT, I didn't buy it for league night.  The true test will be at the year end ABT tournament this weekend and at State.

I've been extremly happy with both of my Guru's, drilled my first one Pin up the second is Pin down. The Guru give that extra confidence when there is med-heavy to heavy oil. If you're in need of a high end ball look no farther than the Guru.

Guru rolled like a champ for qualifying at the Hitter.
960 for 4.
Switched to Gusto in 1 game of matchplay   280.
Lost ball reaction in game 2.
Liking this stuff more and more.

Also, I realized we have similar stats (throwing-wise) so I might be able to comment a little more specifically regarding ball drillings for you the next time you text me.
