795 with the Torrid Elite
« on: March 16, 2013, 12:48:29 PM »
Shot 30 clean , 290, 258,247 for 795 last night subbing for a friend.

Lanes last night had tight back ends. wanted to see if I could make the T.E. work on them . just squared up a little more and slowed my ball speed to 16.5 mph .

And wow what a night.  game 1 ring 10 1st frame off the sheet for 290 ball reacted great. game 2, left 10 pins for spares just got a little fast on those frames

game 3 we got transition finally left 4 pin 2nd frame & another frame. needed to dbl in the 10th for 800 just little fast on 2nd ball left ring 10 for 795.

I was playing most of the night  straight up 5,6, by 3rd game needed to move in about 3&2.

With the T.E. I just can't get to fast but I can still make it work my ave speed is 17.5 and about 325 rpm.

Guys I have used this ball in 18 games now my ave with it is 253 I keep detailed records  on my bowling so I know what works when etc. This is 1st ball out of my bag on a THS, I have shot 300,290, 2ea,279. 795,782,754, nothing under 700 with the T.E. since I got it. Some nights I have put back in the bag did not match up in warm ups. maybe should have worked longer but could have been me that night.

I would highly recommend getting one. I just ordered 2nd one today.

one of the best balls for the money I have ever had .

Just My .02

Only issue going forward with Radical will be.  my pro shop guy is retiring. He is teaching me how to drill my stuff only. So trying to find them at a fair price  on the open market might be an issue. I do know what he pays.

Can you make a comparison to any other ball you've thrown or seen past and present?

To DP3

It is real close to in reaction to

MY Lane 1 enriched uranium I used for over 500 games

I loved that ball maybe that is why I like The T.E. so much

It Reminds  a lot  Of that lane 1 ball

I do not like skid snappy stuff i like smooth rolling equipment and that is the look I get with the T.E. and used to with the Lane 1 E.U.

So like a Medium RG Particle Pearl type roll?  I've probaly drilled & thrown thousands of balls and have never seen an Enriched Uranium roll.

Im not one to come on here and tout a lot of bowling balls, but these balls are absolutely ridiculous. A friend of mine was comped a Yeti, Reax, and Torrid Elite. Simply put these balls are really, really good. There are a lot of "niche" companies out, Jet, Lord Field etc that in my opinion have no "real staying power". The Radical balls however are a different breed, I am seriously considering buying all the 3 of these balls.

I was thinking of doing the same myself for when I come back for summer league.  Maybe even getting duplicates of the Yeti and Torrid Elite.  Seems like the Torrid Elite is hard to find good info on to see if it's even one of those balls that will give you enough separation in breakpoint shape with two of the same ball, drilled different.

Wow! The EU and the XXXL by Lane 1 were the only two balls put out by them that ever caught my attention. If this ball indeed rolls like an EU, I will have to check it out!

I my self  do not tout to many balls on the forum. I am not affiliated with any brand. I have tried many balls and brands over the years. This is a ball I have had great success with.  So when I find something I like I tend to stay with a company until they make changes. In the past I liked Lane 1 until they changed covers. Legends  until they had money troubles and cut corners.  Hope My info helps make a ball choice easier. I just know works best for my game . I look at RG then Cover . then core. That is how I pick a ball. Every bowler is different so what can work great for me might not be right for you.
