Difference in Torrids
« on: July 09, 2013, 07:17:28 AM »
Alright beginning to really narrow down my choices for a new ball. The Torrid Elite is on my short list but now they have the Torrid Affair as well. Anyone had much experience with both or a least have an idea what the difference is between them?

the Elite is a pearl, where the Affair is a sold cover, both use the same core. The Affair should handle more oil, being a solid cover.

Armourboy, I will have a video highlighting the characteristics of the ball.  The major difference I saw from the two balls was that the Elite in the backend was a bit sharper for me.  The Torrid Affair with its polished solid coverstock was smoother and retained a lot of energy and you can see that when it made the motion to the pocket.  Both balls will offer you a different shape and complement each other very well.

Punched up my Affair last night and threw it in league and was happy with the way it rolls. It does get further down lane than the Elite and is calmer off the spot. Will give more details after getting more testing done on it.

I watched a Torrid affair being thrown last night and I wasnt that impressed with the balls reaction for as much hook as there was on the back end. Definetly didnt match up to the lanes at the time.

Wednesday League (7/10/13)
247 226 204 = 677
Torrid Affair
Chopped 2 spares (1 in both games 1 & 3)
First night to use ball.

Tuesday - PBA Exp. (Viper) (7/16/13)
224 194 226 = 644
Torrid Affair
Second time to use ball (first time in sport league) and this ball is very well suited for light to medium patterns.

Tuesday - PBA Experience - Viper (7/23/13)
225 168 262 = 655
Torrid Affair

Second game 2 frames cost me (5th frame - washout 1,2,4,5,10 / 10th frame Big 4)
The Torrid Affair is really showing its muscle on the Viper pattern.

we compared the Affair with the Elite in our latest reaction video for the Affair.

comparison is at the 2:20 mark
http://www.ballreviewscanada.com/videos/radical-torrid-affair-reaction-video-ball-review/

both balls drilled the same, we saw the affair just a little stronger, with a little more back end reaction. the elite was a little smoother in the in back end.
