Radical Cash Bowling Ball Review
REVIEWED BY: THE BTM BALL TESTING TEAM

This mammoth of a bowling ball was best for us on our heavy oil test pattern. On their first shots with the Cash, all three testers attempted to play the same line they played with the Fix and Guru Master. With that alignment, they all three barely hit the headpin going left with this ball. After getting adjusted to the pocket, they were all the farthest left they have ever started on this pattern. The Cash made our 44 foot pattern look much shorter. All three of our testers needed to make sure they were aggressive with their ball speeds in order to get the Cash far enough down the lane before it hooked. As much traction as this ball created, it was even more impressive that the Cash didn’t burn up and quit before it got to the pocket. This ball hooked significantly more than anything we have seen so far.
Strengths
The Cash has the ability to absolutely obliterate an oil pattern. Bowlers who want to overpower the oil pattern will be able to do so with this hook monster.
Overall Summary
Cash is king in the total hook department. The Cash will create more traction and hook than any ball on the market today.

Out of curiosity, how do you transition from this ball when it becomes too much?  Or is this only intended for those heavier flat patterns where many bowlers have trouble with recovery playing straighter?  Even then, I am not sure what to do next.

You "ball down" to next "weakest" ball, the No Rules, of course.

Now that is what I call fun.... Using a No Rules on burned heads from the Cash.  ;)

I guess I approach bowling differently.  Today's equipment destroys oil patterns and it is obvious that is the intention of the manufacturers.  I would rather start with a weaker ball playing straighter and go stronger as I move in.  I dread ever having to play over a line already used up by going weaker.

I suggest you ball down we have lots of options, the Guru Limited, the Xeno and the Xeno pearl. Or if you really like the Cash look at our extensive drill sheets and adjust the surface.
By the way any other companies "strong balls" would be balling down per the industry tester hook ratings. We are at 65.5 nothing from anyone else is close.

I'm just glad someone finally came out with a heavy oil monster hook ball. It's so hard to find that now-a-days...

..."the farthest left they have ever started on this pattern..."
..."made our 44 foot pattern look much shorter"...
..."make sure they were aggressive with their ball speeds in order to get the Cash far enough down the lane before it hooked"...
..."ability to absolutely obliterate an oil pattern"...
..."overpower the oil pattern will be able to do so with this hook monster"...
..."king in the total hook department"...
..."create more traction and hook than any ball on the market"...
..."hooked significantly more than anything we have seen"...

And yet..." even more impressive that the Cash didn’t burn up and quit before it got to the pocket"...Really?

Someone in marketing forgot to add that this ball has anti-gravity capabilities and will carry itself and the rest of the bag into the bowling alley for you. Seeing how it seems to be able to defy the laws of physics and all.  ::)

It'll even give you an "old-fashioned" after league. Another stupid strong ball 95% of bowlers don't need.

Well said NorthFace. Why do we need stronger and stronger balls? A ball that will hook in our backswing on the way up is just what league bowlers need these days. The only people i see throwing Radical in my area are staffers with the big B.

I never see Radical out in the wild. I'll stop anyone before they say I reside in a rural area, I don't. I live in Chicago.

As long as hook potential is what sells balls, they will continue to give them more and more.

 Chicks dig the hook ball

The problem doesn't start with the ball makers, it starts with the bowlers.  If we would stop buying the stuff like its going out of style, there wouldn't be nearly as much of it going on.

Ball tech should've stopped in the late 1980's, maybe even 1991 at the latest, but it didn't, and this is where we are now.

And the argument that "technology has made the game better" doesn't work. Up to a point, technology did improve things, but after that point was achieved, changes stopped being improvements, and started being change for changes sake.

The 55 inch tv I have is a great technological improvement over the 20 inch black & white we had when I was a kid, but that doesn't mean I need a 500 inch set with 50,000,000 megapixel capability.

At some point, enough is enough, and anything added beyond that is just too da*n much.

Sorry for hijacking the thread Phil. Youre a really smart guy, and I really loved some of the old TRACK stuff when you were there, and I realize you're just trying to survive and compete in todays marketplace, I just lament the fact that this is where it has gone and what it takes to do so.

 Good luck in the future.

I saw it yesterday in the pro shop and the pso said this is the most hookinest ball of all time. So in my mind someone is making another Ultimate Warrior Hooking Ball.
I am a new bowler who bowls 2 handed. How much dam hook you need?

 Not nearly this much.

This is where the issue lies.  I have no problem with manufacturers giving the bowlers what they want.  We the bowlers are addicted to getting equipment (especially milo).  And as long as we buy it, manufacturers will make it.

Even Storm made a killing by simply changing the name and color of equipment with no real change in technology.

Lights Out/Punch Out - Fast/Furious - 2Fast/2Furious
Victory Road - T-Road - HyRoad - Crossroad

Each category is pretty much the same just different color and name.  Sure, there may have been some minor coverstock changes, but were the new balls necessary?  Or could they have maintained the current design and moved on?

If you read the initial marketing material I stated "Is there such a thing as too much hook" We will find out, but early sales are telling me that there is not. The Cash is selling very well. The market dictates what we sell, it is a reflection of the environment. The oils have changed and bowlers like to buy balls that hook.

If it falls within the bounds of legal USBC ball specifications, I don't have a problem. I do have a problem with deciding a ball is too much for others. If a bowler wants to buy a ball that turns out to be totally unusable, so be it. That's the beauty of free choice.

I have the Radical Guru Master, Radical Guru Supreme and The Mix. For me, these three balls are more than enough for 99% of what I see. And I only use them for their intended conditions. But every once in a while, I see PBA oil where a snow tire like the Cash could be of use for the first few games. I recently bowled a PBA Regional where even the 400+ rev guys were muttering to themselves on not getting back the pocket. Here, a Cash could be a nice condition specific solution.

As for the comments by some that they rarely see Radical, so what? It doesn't mean they aren't good balls. It just means that they're not pushed by pro shops in the area. In a world where pro shop operators are are more and more becoming company specific "staffers", this is more the norm than anything else.
