First Radical ball
« on: May 16, 2014, 10:29:05 AM »
Looking for suggestions on what would be a good Radical ball.  I tend to do better with a symmetrical core, so I was looking at a Yeti or Torrid.  Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed.
It's all about synchronized pin dancing!

Truthfully, we would need much more information to give you a recommendation. I too tend to do better with symmetrical equipment and recently got my first Radical ball, a Torrid Affair. I love it and am sticking with the brand for summer. The Affair needed about 10 games to come alive, but it is now my go to ball for league. I will also be purchasing a Yeti Unleashed for nationals.
That's not much help, but the bottom line is please post your specs as much as possible and those much more knowledgeable in the brand than I will surely recommend an option. Mid price, medium oil, the Affair is great for me and I'm a low rev lefty.

I to also like symmetric balls, but the first Radical ball i drilled was the Reax V2. I've had some success with the ball and now have gone to a full Radical lineup. The Reax V2 gives great length, and amazing carry. I have it drilled Pin high above the bridge with the mass bias about an inch to right of thumb (sorry dont have the angles off the top of my head). I used this piece and a Grease Monkey to come in 4th place in a local tourney bowling on the USBC Open Team condition.  The Grease Monkey is a very special piece. I have mine drilled pin below bridge (really short pin). Basically when the lanes are fried my monkey is still in play.

Radical V2

:)My 4th Radical for the 2013/2014 season, drilled at 30x4.5x35
PAP 5.25 over .75 up
I am more of a finesse player with low rev rate, threw this ball as it comes out of the box, ball hits very hard, the actual sound is different than anything I have ever thrown, based on the league play lane conditions I needed more at the backend so I polished the V2 and have produced a serious weapon for my arsenal. Shot 767 in league play and have convinced a few other bowlers in the league to try a Radical

In our line there are some really good symmetrical pieces you can choose from.  If you are on a tighter budget I would suggest getting the Torrid Affair this ball is one of the most versatile pieces we have.  Whether you are a low/high rev rate players it works very well.  The strength of the cover is what surprises most people.

If you are looking for a polished piece with a strong motion in the backend.  I would recommend the Yeti Untamed.  The more information you give us the better.
