Drilled my The Fix with the symmetrical layout E - 35 X 5 1/2" X 75 dual angle.  This put the pin just left of my midline, underneath the bridge and ring finger.  CG about 1" right of grip center.  I put a small hole on my PAP.  I would say this is a very atypical layout for me, as I usually go with stronger pin positions above the fingers.

Ball surface was left at "out of the box" finish.  It looked somewhat dull to me, but I wanted to give it a try.  The ball shined up a touch with some lane oil - looked almost like a sheen finish after a few shots.  It didn't seem to change any further though (just my perception - no measurements to verify).

Bowled on a Sunday afternoon left over house shot.  Usually the lanes are oiled Sat afternoon, receive some open play, laser bowling at night, then some more open play on Sunday morning.  This results in a challenging carry down condition...where getting a ball to move on the backend is tough.  A few shots to warm up, I had a surprising line...up 10.  Through the toasty heads, rather easily, smooth roll in the mids, then a strong roll through the pin deck.  Not much deflection at all.  I was pushing 8 and 9 pins up in the air and straight back in the pit.  I can't get a ball to hit like that on a fresh shot!

After a few frames, I moved in a couple with my feet and a little with my target, and played a small swing.  The ball cornered quite well and kept the same smooth shape and hit.  For comparison I threw my vintage Gold Rhino (which has been my go-to ball).  It struggled to turn the corner due to the carry down.  The Fix was much stronger rolling on the backend on this condition. 

I had about 3-4" of tightly spaced flare rings.  Unlike some balls I've had, a quick wipe with the leather pad and the oil was completely gone.  Not sure if it was quickly absorbing..or just coming off easily.  Didn't seem to pick up much dirt/residue through the set...so that's a plus.

I'm going to throw during league on a fresher shot this week.  Will report back then.  Hopefully the backend is still smooth like on the carry down shot.

I have seen one Radical staffer in my area try both the asymm and symm Fix on our local house shot 19ml at 41'.  OOB surface just didn't leave enough energy for either of them to carry well.  His choice of a Asymm. Ridiculous OOB was a better choice last week 700.  19ml at OOB is just not enough volume for the Fix to perform well.   Gary Faulkner's video's of the Fix at 27ml shows them off in a much better light.

Took it out tonight at a different house.  Higher volume oil, and a little longer pattern than my normal league house.  I was able to play further right, crossing 12 at the arrows, out to 5.  A strong turn and the same hard roll off the spot.    Went front 5, pocket 7-10, then sheet.  Second game, I found a touch of oil that pushed down the lane (this is a work league with multiple people playing straight down the middle).  I left a few wrapped 10s...fished around for an adjustment managed to leave a few more 10s and even worse, missed one.  Last game I moved a little deeper, made a hand position adjustment to get a little more on the ball, and finished out.  Here, I was playing 15 out to 10.  As long as I didn't get too fast with the speed, it was dead flush. I carried a couple light mixers with a little faster speed.  I moved my feet 4 boards all night and never really had to move any further in.  For comparison, at the end of the night, I threw one shot with my Gold Rhino Pro on the same line, 15 to 10.  I just caught the edge of the 10 pin...almost missed right!  The Fix is strong, smooth, and continuous.  Tonight, I really would have liked a pin up version with a little more recovery to open up the lane a bit more, but the smooth and controllable pin down kept me in the pocket all night and out of trouble.  I can't ask for much more.

This ball is making a strong case to be one of my favorites...it's going to be hard to push out the original Black Eagle...  but so far, so good.
