Guru Pearl Limited
« on: July 14, 2016, 05:12:52 PM »
Early field reports the Guru Pearl Limited Edition is turning some heads, we had a win already over in Europe on the European Tour, some big scores domestically.  Uniqueness with the Limited Edition is that it was given a 57.5 hook rating that is a number usually sort after by big hooking solids, cool thing is that its a pearl so all the hook is later in the ball motion, not skid snap but length and tons of recovery.  Check it our on our face book page or our website. www.radicalbowling.com

I couldn't agree more.  Mine is great when the heads breakdown, but there is still a decent amount of oil in the mid lane.  Really liking the reaction and will be posting a review after this weekend of bowling a different tournament.

Any chances of extending the Guru line to the 12lb and 13lb weights?  Maybe using Brunswick's generic asymmetrical core for the 12-13lb balls (being used by Brunswick and DV8 in the 12-13 balls) and putting the Guru cover on it?  I know the specs wouldn't be identical to the 14-16 in terms of RG/Diff/Int, but it would be close enough to get a comparable reaction for those of us that have no choice but to use the lower weights.

How does this ball differ from a Mighty with the same surface? Have a customer that is interested.

Newguy, how crucial is a long-pin (>= 4 inches) doing a double-thumb layout on the finger scoop cores really? I have a 2.5 inch NIB and a >4 on order... was thinking of a pin up n pin down 1-2 punch.

As always, thanks.

Longer pin is better so you are not drilling the fingers into the core, that will enhance the double thumb hole and make it flare even more.

TK what I saw was the Limited was more angular and was longer. I love how it fits honestly. I have mines to play behind the Mighty and the Supreme ahead of the Mighty. I have all five of them and layered them to make a very good arsenal. Thanks to Mo and Phil who do a great job in giving us a wide range of shapes and reactions to fill spots in our bags.

I couldn't tell you since I know nothing about your game or what you bowl on. Your pro shop is probably the best to help you answer that question. If you followed the thread and look at the point of sale info you would have seen the description of what the ball does, this should help you make a decision based on past experience's you have had in choosing a ball.
Why do you throw only hammer balls?

djhook you should because it's the best pearl ball on the market hands down. Not one person I got into this ball loved it! Most pearls give you too much over/under. This ball rolls true. It's very clean, don't over shot break when it hits oil, and once it reads friction flips with drive. This ball hits extremely hard and give me a lot of options. Last night it was the 1st ball out of my bag and all I had to do was make 2-1 moves till the set was done. Also guys that have ball speed also love this ball when the lanes start to break down and you want to create angle. If you lack hand or no ball speed this ball give you the movement down lane you need. My coach Eddie Curtis is killing with this ball in sports and THS tourneys. Also this ball take to surface changes as well. This and the Ridiculous Pearl are the best 1-2 punch for pearls I have used in years. As a staffer I have a different point of view. I don't push equipment to make sales, but push items to help people get more bang for the buck to help them get the most out of our sport.

So get the Limited and put your favorite layout on it. Use one that give you some range so you can make surface adjustments to work with.

What is a versatile layout? Is it something special? What does that layout do and would it be good for Guru limited pearl

Don't quite understand what you mean by that?
