Hoping to get some drilling advice for my new Yeti Untamed
« on: January 04, 2014, 11:23:36 PM »
I posted on bowlingchat to try and get some dual angle advice on my Yeti Untamed but I forgot to get my axis rotation measured so no one is responding to my post.. I was hoping someone here can help.. My stats are as follows.

I was using my 15lb Track 300C for the testing.. Drilled 80x4.5x65 no x hole..

Right handed
Speed 16 mph (off hand)
Revs 380 rpms
Axis tilt 20 degrees
PAP 4 5/8ths 1/8th up

I bowl two leagues, one early shift and one late shift.. THS 41 feet in length

I usually start out standing 23 looking around 15 at the arrows with my breakpoint around 8.. By the 3rd game, I'm usually standing around 30, looking 18..

My second shift league I start out standing anywhere from 20 to 35 depending on who's bowling before us.. The early shift league that night has a bunch of straight bowlers so there's sometimes a lot of carry down..

I use my Track 300C for both leagues.. I do like the ball a lot but I have to drop down to 14lbs due to an old hand injury that won't seem to heal.. I know dropping weight to 14 lbs is going to change my stats a little but I was hoping to see if anyone here can give me some dual angle advice on where to start for a benchmark.. Thanx in advanced..

As you may already know the strength of the Untamed is worlds above the 300c. If you follow Mo's new symmetrical layout recommendations you won't be using Dual Angle.

I would probably go pin above ring with cg on centerline and manage the surface to dial it in. Check out Radicalbowling.com before deciding and click on layout info.

For a benchmark put the pin in the ring finger and keep the Cg near your grip center (maybe 1/4 positive statics).  Bowl with it, then fine tune as needed for the variable rotation angle with a balance hole or surface.
Good Luck & Good Bowling!

Ironically I liked the pin in ring idea as well. I offered pin above to give just a touch more at the breakpoint. I do however think either recommendation will work and am not opposed to the pin in the ring idea with your above average tilt.
