Well, here's a mini review of the Yeti. I will get the video edited and p0osted asap.
Layout....consulted Mo for a layout and he suggested,. what else? MOtion hole!!! So I have the pin nexdt to m6 ring with the cg kicked in towards the grip center located just above the thumbhole. Decided on a 3/4 x 3" hole placed 10" from the pin.
Surface....due to my rev rate, speed and lane conditions, Mo suggested 4000 with no poliosh.
oil pattern...heavier house pattern on old wood.Currently running about 75 units between 15 and 15, tapering to 20 at the 10 board and then a pretty steep drop off to 5 outside. Total pattern length is 41 feet. Oil used...Infinity.
I decided to introduce the Yeti during our friday night mixed league....4 men and 4 women on a pair and we happened to bowling on the infamous 1 and 2. Typical problems being that lane 1 usually outhooks 2 by 5-6 boards due to the lane man not having the machine up to pressure when he starts oiling.
First impressions mean a lot to me and the first shot left me awestruck... 15 out to 5 and a smash 9 pin....ok then! I have room to the right! Proceeded to get comfy with the ball and shot 192. Followed it up with a 220 and then a 256 to cap the night for a 668.
My take on the ball:
responds very well to changes in hand position and ball speed
is very forgiving in the oil, not so much in the dry
plenty of power to spare at the pin deck (even with the wood and sanded finish)
carry is well above par
the look on the lane is sneaky for 40 feet and then you see the ball rev up and BAM!
This ball is in my bag and will go everywhere I bowl from now on. Other than my spare ball it is the only non-Hammer ball in the bag.It took the place of my 3-D Offset...does that say anything??? The ball is that good.....
i will post more as i use the ball more.
