A new Tremendous series piece on the horizon?
« on: October 05, 2017, 02:42:02 PM »
Out of curiosity, I perused the USBC's approved ball list site. It noted Radical has a Tremendous Pearl approved on 10.3.2017.

I'm sure Phil will only announce something in his own time. But I suppose that would be the logical progression in the re-branded Guru series (i.e., Tremendous) by introducing a pearl.

Ball speed avg. (18.25 mph)
Rev rate avg. (400-428 rpm)
Still refusing to accept AARP eligibility and membership cards

Wow, I hope so. The Guru Limited pearl is one of my favorite balls. I have two. I'd jump on a Tremendous Pearl in a minute.

That is pretty interesting. Radical isn't quick to make a pearl for their high-end asymmetrical balls... although I suppose they're not marketing the Tremendous (line) as such.

There's a website showing both the Tremendous Pearl and the Katana.

Katana showed "angular core with responsive cover" Interesting that Phil and Radical are coming out with 2 balls at the same time that might have pretty similar motions. Looks like a modified Guru core with more mass

I missed that Katana entry. Thanks for mentioning it!

Now the Katana is really interesting. That's a pearl, first time they've introduced a high-end asymmetric line with one I believe. Specs for 15 pounds are 2.503 RG, 0.050 DIF, and 0.020 MB. Pegged as the most angular ball they've made.

The coverstock actually has a name too for the first time in Radical history. This one is Forged. Will be interesting to see if this trend continues and then we can actually tell when a specific coverstock is reused for other balls.
