I'm finding many of these newer bowling balls intrigue me even less. The latest isn't entirely the greatest.
I think bowling ball manufacturing has hit a wall. The technology might be (probably is) out there to improve, but the USBC regulations put in place to would have to be changed first. And that would be no easy feat given what we know about the USBC. Also, I'm not sure if we would really want that anyways given balls are plenty strong/flippy/whatever enough as it is. Bowling lanes themselves might need to be changed if ball got any stronger... but what would be the point then? It's looking more and more like a zero-sum game to me.
So yeah, the newer stuff isn't all that impressive anymore because it's all the same. And all the companies are basically on equal footing at this point. But it is nice that they all put out quality stuff that just plain works.
