It takes a big person to admit when they are wrong or their opinion on a subject wasn't correct-- You took an honorable step by making this updated post and letting everyone know of your changed opinion.
The Reax, when used incorrectly, looks like a weaker, lighter volume/pattern/oil ball-- but when everything else won't hook, that's when the Reax comes to life. I've used a number of "oiler" balls in the past-- for me, the Reax is the best (even rated above my La Nina, which was "fuzzy" to the touch)-- it offers control on volume, but it doesn't "die" when it makes the move towards the pocket.
I love this ball and I'll be purchasing a few more for the future (hint, they should be going down in price here in the next few weeks)-- also, pick up the Yeti as a nice complement to the Reax when the lanes start to break down a bit.
