Rack Attacks discontinued?

The Radical website still shows both Rack Attacks, but some other websites that sell them are listing them as discontinued.  I was hoping to use a gift certificate/credit from Buddies to get one, but they don't have the Rack Attack Pearl.

Does anyone know if Radical is planning on replacing the Rack Attacks with something similar?  I remember Phil posting here a while back that the Rack Attacks were Radical's equivalent of Urethane.

Really?
That kind of surprises me. I would say that makes me wonder who was throwing those RAs to make them appear urethane-like: someone with 25 mph ball speed and 125 rpms???

More likely, they were as close Radical could come to a urethane-like reaction?

If it's the thread I think tou are referring to, he emphasized the pin being closer to your PAP with some surface on it as well to give you the traditional urethane motion.

"The word urethane is used very loosely now a days. No one makes an original urethane ball, but they market them as such. the resin formulas and process used in todays manufacturing doesn't allow an old school urethane. They are extremely weak resin formula's.
Our industry is great when it come to less than true marketing.
We have put a weaker resin formula in our Rack attack pearl. I can not justify a " "faux resin" for the rare times it comes into play. Weaker rolly drillings on the solid and pearl rack attack will give you better opportunities to score."

I realize that Mo has sort of "infected' Phil with his philosophy of making only very strong balls. Mo did that with MoRich brand and has done it with Radical. True, a very high percentage of today's bowlers seem to have very high ball speeds with very low rev rates; so they sell a lot of Radical balls to those people, as well as to those who have the luxury of bowling on decent amounts of oil. That said, there are still many of us who cannot find decent amounts of oil on decently maintained lanes; we have to search elsewhere for lighter oil balls. There are a few manufacturers who make and sell urethane/resin blends as well as milder balls; for many of us the Rack Attack Pearl was for il no lighter than medium-light and the Solid required medium oil at a minimum. Such is life.

I guess everyone has their own opinion as to how they see things and translate them. Mo has not infected Me or the brand, we have a full line and performance at each level. The Jackpot line was introduced and certainly does not fall under big hooking. Our hooking balls are at the high end as well they should be. We have different levels of performance as anyone who spends time looking at the line can clearly see. We refresh the line from time to time as I see fit.
