Master or Supreme ?
« on: November 01, 2015, 10:13:21 AM »
Thinking of buying one of these balls. Looking for the most hook I can get. From what I've seen and read the Master starts earlier but the Supreme has more back end. I'm a lefty with about 15.5 mph and low to medium revs. Trying to rebuild my game to get a better release and follow through. All the years with dry outsides spoiled me so now getting movement is getting tougher. Thanks.

I have thrown both and it really comes down to the reaction that you want.  The master starts its flip motion a little sooner than the supreme.  For me I stand on the same mark with both and throw at the same mark down lane.  Both balls get to the pocket though at different angles.  It will ultimately depend on what motion you want to get.  I love both balls.

Both balls are can't miss pieces IMO.  They also take surface adjustments really well.  Being a higher rev guy they weren't really usable for me in the OOB condition at least on the patterns I normally see so I brought the surfaces up a bit.  They both have a different look when they hit the pins than anything else out there.  Just throw your favorite layout on them and enjoy!!

Both are correct with their assessment. The Guru Master will give you a stronger midlane read with continuation, and the Guru Supreme will go longer and snap harder with the same continuation. Plus, they both take well to surface changes to get a more desirable reaction.

It would be helpful if you could let us know your tilt. Mo explained it to me that the master is for guys with more speed and high tilt and the Supreme matches up nicely for players with less speed and less tilt. Makes sense, the Master reads sooner and will help those that need the ball to slow down quiker and the Supreme pushes a few more feet which will benefit the softer speed and less tilt folks.  I have both and I have the Supreme 3 & 1 more. Both are very good balls, just have a little different shapes. Mike Mineman.

Don't know my tilt. Right now I am focusing on rebuilding just about all of my bowling technique. Shot video of myself and saw several glaring faults. Think at this time I should try to improve my technique to fix my game rather than buy a ball to try and fix things.
