Radical Score first impression
« on: January 10, 2016, 10:44:45 PM »
OK,  when I first get a ball I like to throw it no holes.

I often get a feeling of what the ball will do with different drillings.  I was quite amazed at the way this Radical Score pushed down the alley!  Smooth with lots of push.  Frankly I had not thrown a modern Solid that had this much easy push when dull!

How do the Radical guys do it?  So much difference in coverstock between the Score and the Radical Reax.  Does this one with the same core of the Reax have a very sharp backend or is it more smooth?

Any thoughts on durability from Radical owners have had it for quite a while?

Thanks,

Luckylety

OH man do i ever love this ball. Polished or dull it clears the heads with no problem. I have a lot of miss room with this ball, inside and out. I probably have close to 150 games on it and it still reacts like a brand new ball. I have quite a few honor scores with it and I just cant put it down. By far my favorite ball of all time.

Its about as smooth as they come yet still has great roll even on heavier patterns. I can use this ball on just about anything.

Wish I could give a glowing report like the previous poster, but for me this ball has been anything but good.  Mine is drilled 45x3 3/4x30 with a hole.  I have tried it at OOB, 2000, 1000, 800 , 500 with polish.  Nothing seems to work.  I just cannot get a consistent reaction out of this ball.  I pride myself in being able to throw just about anything and finding a way to make a ball work.  But, this one has me perplexed.  I guess it's true that sometime you just don't match up..... for me it's the Score.

I'm curious... Do you position the undrilled ball differently between throwing shots to evaluate potential layouts?

Yes, I do try different finger placements.  I always end up with more reaction with fingers, but I can sort of see general shape with different positions while throwing a completely undrilled ball.
