Radical Yeti Unleashed
« on: February 24, 2014, 01:16:19 PM »
Here is the new release from Radical that will be available March 13:

Yeti UNLEASHED

The newly developed solid cover wrapped
around the already proven and popular Yeti
core offers a very strong mid lane motion
and more total hook than the two preceding
Yetis. The Yeti Unleashed will match up well
on most tournament conditions and heavier
oil league patterns. The patented scoop
core concept provides a wide range of drill
patterns to match nearly all bowling styles on
medium to heavy oil lane patterns.

Not to take away from the thread but a question/comment about the website and the Yetis. I was looking at the Reax balls and got to the RG and Diff and saw the 16# ball listed left and dropping weights from left to right so the lightest ball is listed to the further right. However, when I went and looked at the Yeti's, the reverse is true as the RG and Diff starts with the 12# model on the left and works from left to right until the 16# ball is listed furthest to the right. I initially grabbed info for the 12# Yeti when I thought I was getting it for the 16# Yeti.

Any chance of reworking the site to see if the RG and Diff info can be listed in the same manner for each ball line or is there a reason it is listed one way for the Reax and another for the Yetis?

Thanks

Well the Yeti Unleashed and Torrid Elite paired up for a good night again; 237,224,279=730
Still impressed at how well each Radical ball compliments the next one. Looking forward to the next great release from Radical.

Nice, consistent bowling Rob. What was the difference between the first 2 games, and the final game? How different is your look when comparing the Unleashed and the T. Elite? I didn't really look at the "beginning" numbers for the Elite previously-- was surprised (just now) to learn that @ 15lbs (not drilled) the RG was 2.48 and 0.48 (Unleashed is 2.482 and 0.54).

How did you lay out the T. Elite?

Also, I'm excited (and sad) to see that the Yeti and the Reax are heading to the discontinued list--- this means I can pick up 2 for the price of 1, and put them in the closet for a year or two before punching those bad boys up!!!
Reax-45x4.5x40(pin down)
Nexus (original)- 45 x 4 x 35 (pin up)
503t-45x4.5x40
Source-60 x 5.5 x 50
Nexxxus f(p+s)-70x5.5x35
Marauder-55x5x50 (2k+polish)
300t-60x5.5x50 (+polish)
Melee-75x6x40 -- Anyone want to buy this?

In the first 2 games I had some bad execution on my part, ball position in my setup led to bad timing in approach. I have the same layout on both balls, 45 x 5 9/16 x 70 with OOB surface on them. The Torrid Elite allows me to move back right to were I started the night with the Unleashed which is nice. That is one of the many things I like about my Radical equipment is how the EZ Use line compliments the Reliable line which compliments the Top Shelf line.

Yes it is a bummer that the Reax and Yeti are being retired but that also means that there are great replacements on the horizon.

The Unleashed "made it look easy" last night in league:
225, 290, 269 = 784

That was a comment, "made it look easy", made from different people last night in our Friday league. They asked what ball was I using and I was more than happy to tell them it was the Radical Unleashed. This ball creates a look that just keeps drawing attention and keeps destroying the pins.
Looking forward to the next pin destroyer from Radical!

How well does it complement the Grease Monkey?

It's a big step above the Grease Monkey...  But those two, with the right layout and surface adjustments, can probably cover most conditions other than dry...

I have my Grease Monkey, Torrid Elite, and Yeti Unleashed drilled with the same layout. So when the Unleashed starts hooking early I can switch to either the Elite or the GM depending on what the lane is giving me. One of the many good points of the radical equipment is all the lines compliment the next and makes ball changes very easy.
Thanks again goes out to Mo, Phil, and the entire Radical/Brunswick Team for making great equipment.

Here is a link to the pictures on the Radical site:
Yeti Unleashed - https://scontent-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1.0-9/s720x720/1904274_292569954230864_111481273_n.jpg
Reax Version 2 - https://scontent-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn2/t1.0-9/s720x720/1460273_259238967563963_1918154533_n.jpg
For me the Reax V2 and the Yeti Unleashed start about the same point on the lane and the Reax V2 is smooth continous arc through the pins and the Yeti Unleashed has a stronger move off the spot and has a stronger arc through the pins.

After pitching for my Grandsons 8u league team made it for the last 2 games Monday:
289-227
The last game the pair started opening up and I didn't move fast enough but the real good side to it was it was a clean game.
The Yeti Unleashed is beyond a doubt the best Symm. cored ball on the market. Pick one up if you haven't already you are missing out.

880 Thursday night with my Unleashed...

That's right... it was no tap/fun night, but I only left 8 frames where I didn't carry all 10 on the first ball...

Shot a new personal best with my Unleashed this week. 290. Some of the shots I made had no right to be strikes, but they were. Great carry.

With this house, I was a little surprised I could use it for the whole first game.  Most times I can't use it at all (the place is rather stingy with oil). When I can use this ball, it's money.
