rave and xeno pearl, similar?
« on: January 10, 2017, 05:18:35 PM »
I'm testing the waters and breaking away from being "loyal". The Rave is my first Rad ball and I'm really liking it. I like the ball motion from going down the lane to the bounce off the dry at 5, it's between a smooth and abrupt hooking motion. The continuation through the middle pins is amazing.

I'm curious about the Xeno Pearl. Is this a ball I can move further left from the Rave, or are they similar? also, I know this ball comes out next week, but I'm looking for a Bday gift for myself. lol.

For some reason or another, I'm starting to like pearl covers in the last 2 to 3 years now...

I'd expect the Xeno Pearl to be 5-7 boards more than the Rave

The Rave was the first of the "entry" level balls that they incorporated the scoop technology in the core. The Xeno Pearl uses the Reax Version 2 core wrapped with a better cover. The Rave is symmetric while the Xeno Pearl is Asymmetric. I really like the Xeno Pearl, I haven't always matched up well with high end pearls, it gives me something with a strong core that will clear the fronts well and gives me a strong motion off the spot and not use itself up. For me the Xeno Pearl starts a little sooner on the lane, with a stronger motion, and about 5 more boards of hook.

I thought the Grease Monkey was the first "lower" end ball with the scoop tech?

Since the Xeno Pearl is asymmetrical, it's holding me back from purchasing it. All because I don't really understand Asymmetrical drillings and my experience with these type of balls.

thanks guys for the info...

I forgot the Grease Monkey did have the scoop core in it. Thanks for the reminder TKKshop.

Our drill sheets are the best in the industry and take all the guess work out of the motion you are going to get. you wont be disappointed.
