Got myself a Torrid. 'praying'
« on: October 17, 2013, 07:41:17 PM »
So I picked up a Torrrid.  I'm a little scared as this was poured at the SA plant for which I've had MAJOR problems with stuff poured by them.  So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe I should have gotten an elite but I needed something for lighter conditions.

If you had major cracking problems in the past with the balls that came out of  the SA plant why would you buy another. Isnt there like 100 different options you could of picked from at that price point. Im alittle confused. With a name track fanatic i thought maybe a 400 a se would of been on the radar?

I have the original radical slant and didn't have issues with it. Got the Torrid cheap. Track_Fanatic was a name created back when Track was owned by Columbia. after it was sold and the balls that came out after the sale, I have not bought a Track ball since and have no intentions on spending my money on their equipment. Is rather try my luck with radical poured by the SA plant than give my money to KY.

So what issues have you had? Sounds like you've been a fan of balls poured in SA?

I only had 1 issue with a Track ball when I was throwing them exclusively.  When 900 Global started up there, I've had issues with 6 of their nuggets which includes the AMF brand. I never had any issues with the big B or Storm.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. I would imagine that the brand (radical in this case) has some say in manufacturing processes and tolerances. Enough to affect overall quality and longevity I would guess.

I would like to think that a company wouldn't put out a final product as a 1st quality ball if there was something to worry about you know? Just my opinion. Good luck with the torrid. I've heard great things about it.

The Torrid was the last ball I had built in San Antonio. I have not heard much about cracking but we did have some issues with some of the other balls built there. Since the move to Brunswick we have not had any issues what so ever.
Regarding the comment about us having some say in the production, we can not control the manufacturing quality issues since we do not own the manufacturing. If the quality is poor and cracking occurs you have to either live with it or leave.
