Phil's latest release . . . Rack Attack
« on: April 07, 2015, 03:52:18 PM »
Well, I did suggest something in the 2.54 range and low RGs, say in the .020s. (I don't know if Phil will acknowledge that.)

My actual suggestion on Phil's open thread was: "That said, I'd like to see in a future Radical ball that has a slightly higher RG, say around the 2.51-2.53 range, and much lower differential, say in the mid-.020s, but is capable of being versatile because of its strong cover: a ball that you can actually play up the boards, but as necessary be able to swing it -- and not always on low oil volumes/dry conditions. I guess the kind of ball that I'm describing is a bit of an old school reactive (with a symmetric core), but I'm sure it could make some bowlers a LOT of money."

Hopefully sooner than your royalty check.  :)

Much different cover than the Avalanche series. Different core density. Different finish process. Other than that they are identical. 😎

Reverse engineering. Still managed to get the same rg and diff as the avalanche core.  Thats just lucky.

The milder core numbers make for a great versatile reaction for most bowlers. Some of the most popular  bowling balls out recently are not the strongest.

Agree 100%, many bowlers make a huge mistake by going way stronger than they need. a mild core and a good cover stock will allow you to be more versatile as to how you play the lanes and will let you stay on the shot longer. Especially on the more hooking house shots.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  That's what I asked for in your earlier thread, and that's why I'm glad you are doing this.  Let everyone else buy the latest hook monster and chase the oil left and I will quietly stay right and take your money.
