I just purchased a Guru because I wanted to try a Radical ball and this one looked good. I went out to try it for Sunday morning practice. We always have fresh oil and the lanes are pretty slick. I usually have to start down and in and as the lanes start to dry out some I can move in to 2'nd arrow and swing it some. When I tried the Guru the ball was hooking some early and would quit hooking about 1/2 way down the lane and kind of fizzle out. after 6 or 7 frames it was burning up so I hand polished it some with some snake oil. No real difference so I went to the counter and asked if they oiled the lanes and they said they didn't bother to oil today. So the lanes probably had 20 or more games on them so they had no head oil and tons of carry down. In other words a horrible shot. I hope I didn't screw the ball up by polishing it. I know I can always sand it a bit but it may work fine like that. I won't know until I get to bowl on some oil.

Before adding polish did you try throwing any of your other equipment to see how it reacted?

i have my guru sanded to 1000 and polished and it plays just fine. the cover takes changes easily and the ball hooks hard on ths

I made the mistake of adding the polish before trying my other equipment. When trying my other stuff they all reacted the same. I'll give it a try today after they oil and see how it works, Thanks for the reply.

I've never used snake oil but I wouldn't recommend applying any polish without a ballspinner.

I got to try the Guru last night in league with just a touch of polish. The ball rolled good as long as I kept my wrist cocked and didn't ease up o it at release. It started up a strong roll in the mids with a strong arc on the back. I would have had 300 the second game except for a pocket 7-10 in the 5th frame. There were 5 of those on our pair last night. I don;t know much about motion holes but I might look into putting a motion hole it it to see if I can get a little more backend. I'm happy with the ball and will definitely be getting another Radical ball. The Score looks like a good choice when the lanes start getting to dry for the Guru.

Why not? I remember there being two measurements one being 11" past the pin and one 10" past the pin. One for assymetric and the other for symmetric core balls. did something change?

I don't know a lot about it but I saw are ally good video on bowling chat forum. On guy was throwing the same type of ball with the same surface but different positions for motion holes and they didn't even look like the same ball. I couldn't believe the difference it made.

Something did change. The shape of the core. Motion hope in asymetric core balls can be hit or miss.

True but any drill could be hit or miss on any ball.
