End season buy (Grease Monkey line)
« on: May 18, 2015, 10:40:11 AM »
League is over and this the time I evaluate my equipment and start plugging holes in my back for the summer tourney run and prepare for next season league play. I was eyeing down the Monkey Line and finally broke down and invested in all 3.

Pow:

I didn't know that the Untamed line was d/c. So Mo Pinel informed me that this would be a ball that was close to the Untamed, but I had to make some surface adjustments to get it closer. I fell in love with this right off the bat. It was a very smooth ball that gave me great down lane movement for a entry level solid. It took to surface changes very well. I had all 3 drilled with the MOtion hole layout. This layout allowed the Pow to retain more energy down lane. It mesh well with the Unleashed. It played the fresh well and I was able to stay with this ball 2-3 games with just simple 2-1 moves. Great ball for a 1st time bowler that has worked on his game and ready to move to reactive equipment that has quality performance. It's also a great ball for those to sure up the middle part of their bag to blend down from heavy pieces in the top tier of the HP line in Radical.

Whack:

Let's get to the point....Skid and big flip. This ball is very clean. I rolled around 12 game son a pair so I can get a decent read of this piece. I went to the Whack and it's a lot of ball for the price. When the Pow start to flatten out a bit or not going thru the pins well the Whack was just plain sick. I kept moving left and this ball kept coming back. I'm more up the back so when lanes break down I have issues. So the MOtion hole layout with this clean cover was a match made in heaven. This ball is great for broken down as well as THS when you want to play closer to the friction and work your way in. This ball really shine when I moved inside. I don't have hand at all and this entry level ball had crazy recovery. It's a few boards weaker than the Uncaged. When I went from Uncaged to Elite it was too big of a gap. Having the Whack give me a nice step down when the Uncaged is too strong and the Elite is not enough ball. This ball is a sleeper. Plus since it's a hybrid it was very surface friendly.

OG Grease Monkey:

Now this could be me but the OG seem to start up a little sooner than the Whack but didn't have the Whack down lane movement. Now don't get it twisted this ball is skid/flip. It's no pink by any means. I'm just trying to pain a picture of movement so if you're in the market for filling in some holes you make the better investment. It's very clean but the Whack seem it get down lane a little further. The backend is to me 3-5 boards weaker than the Whack. The OG seem to get into a roll quicker than the Whack and the backend is very nice but not as much as the Whack. So this really helped the drier end of my bag very well. Now I have a great tier from the Uncaged, Yeti, Whack, OG Grease Monkey, and Elite.

Don't sleep on the entry level line that Radical is producing. They're doing a great job with giving you a lot of performance for the money. Now with the Rack Attack Radical has given us more options to attack any conditions we may face.
