Radical keeps it pretty simple with pin up layouts. Just go with your favorite layout

Obviously I'm not Phil. But what type of conditions do you normally see? What type of lane surface do you bowl on? The Uncaged gets down lane pretty clean at the box surface. Depending on your speed to Rev rate, you could try the MOtin hole layout. I know Mo likes to use it a lot for high track and lower tilt bowlers. But you don't have to get too technical. The Yetis work really well with the motion hole tho.

2handed . . . If you clip the thumb, you could try a performance fit to help. But, a very simple suggestion is to use balls with the characteristics you're looking for first. Don't be afraid to tweak the surfaces to promote a smoother change of direction, lower pin to pap on symmetrical balls and use balance holes to fine tune reaction. Val angle, pin to pap, surface and balance holes are the key for symmetrical balls. Keep it flare safe so the ball doesn't catch air rolling over the thumb and adjust the other things. Hopefully you can find what you're looking for.

coverstock - 50% of total reaction
core type - 20% of total reaction
texture - 15% of total reaction
layout & tweaks - 15% of total reaction

as you can see, layout is towards the lower end of this list
stick with a generally normal layout and adjust surface from there
pin above bridge, pin below bridge or pin in 1 of the fingers depending on how much flare you want

I will chime in, as well.  If you've had success with a certain layout don't mess with it.

Too many times we want to "reinvent the wheel" by trying something that gets talked about, or is the new thing.  I drill a fair amount of balls, and have for years now, and frankly, I've probably ruined a few by trying something too far different than what works for me.

A great layout can compliment your game, while a bad one could leave you with something less versatile than you want, in my opinion.  Good luck to you.
