Storm continues to elevate the success of their “Road” series with the release of the Road Warrior. The Road Warrior combines the Inverted FE2’s Core proven reliability and Storm’s ground-breaking A.I. technology, all wrapped with the next-generation R2S Deep Pearl coverstock. And leave it to Storm to mix all these ingredients and produce the next generation of excellence in the Road Series. So, let’s take a closer look at what makes the Road Warrior an excellent choice for your arsenal.
The Inverted FE2 has always been a smooth and well-balanced core that has given us straighter players the predictability we have come to depend on from the Road Series. And now, inside the Road Warrior, you get the same legendary, well-balanced motion of the Inverted FE2 core. Plus, you also get the dynamic shape and strength that A.I. Technology brings to the SPI family of bowling balls. I like how the Inverted FE2-A.I. Core rev’s in the mid-lane without sacrificing energy because of my slower rev rate. I also like how the Inverted FE2-A.I. core provided a consistent motion regardless of where I was rolling the Road Warrior on the lane. I was also highly impressed at how the A.I. technology brought a vibrant, well-defined motion off the pattern, giving my straighter game the consistency I like to see. Lastly, I liked the added punch and power the A.I. technology gave my Road Warrior because, with that extra energy and continuation, I could carry those lighter, softer hits that would typically leave me with a single-pin spare to shoot. So, it is easy to see how the Inverted FE2-A.I. Core is an excellent choice for any straighter player.
The R2S Deep Pearl Reactive with the Power Edge factory finish initially gave me a bit of a struggle. For my straighter game, I found the factory surface didn’t allow the Road Warrior to bite in the mid-lane where I needed it to, and I had a hard time making the hill. However, when I took my Road Warrior to 1500-grit Abralon and followed that up with Storm’s new Power Edge polish, my Road Warrior lit up the lanes for my low-rev, straighter hand. I found that the surface change of the R2S Deep Pearl coverstock brought excellent consistency and traction in later-night conditions. I especially liked how the R2S Deep Pearl gripped well along the shim line as the night progressed. The R2S Deep Pearl allows the Road Warrior to conserve energy. And I like how that conserved energy allowed the Inverted FE2-A.I. core to deliver a robust sweeping motion at the pocket we straighter players want to see. So, I found that, overall, with the correct surface adjustment to fit your game, the R2S Deep Pearl will deliver results for any straighter player’s game.
In conclusion, the new Road Warrior by Storm is an excellent fit for any straighter player’s arsenal. Whether stand-alone for a new bowler looking for a more vigorous motion than they get from a level one ball or a seasoned bowler looking to compliment their more aggressive arsenal, the Road Warrior is a good fit. And if you are an owner of the original Hy-Road, put the Road Warrior alongside it and enjoy the results of a “Road” arsenal one-two punch!
