Storm Hy-Road is known for its versatility and smooth reaction. The Hy-Road is a great choice for various lane conditions and can be easier to handle.

Some great names here! 'Pho King Good' and 'Britney Spares' gave me a good laugh. Thinking of going with something like 'Spare Wars' or 'Bowl Movements.' Anyone else got more puns up their sleeve?

I've noticed my own bowling balls losing their grip over time, too. I've used a basic cleaner, but I’m considering trying CTD’s products after seeing them recommended here. Has anyone tried their Life After Death cleaner over an extended period? Also curious about the sonic oil remover—anyone had luck with that for serious oil buildup?

Sam Cooper. Roto Grip Amateur Staff. Man the Storm Phaze AI not only does this ball look sweet going down the lane it reacts just as good as it looks. The TX-16 pearl cover paired with the Velocity AI core will be a great combination for many different bowling styles. I went with a slightly different layout than I typically do with symmetrical pearls. I did a 5.5” pin with a 2.25” pin buffer. When this ball sees the friction, it turns for home in a big way. This feels like the “Storm Reaction” that we have been missing with some balls. There have been many times I will say to myself that ball is not making it back and it just runs the pocket over.  If you are a Phaze 2 lover this ball will be the best compliment to one of the greatest balls of all time.
The Phaze AI also has a new finishing polish called Power Edge. In comparison to Reacta Gloss, I think Power Edge gives you a more consistent read and also hooks more in oil. On the house shots if you miss the ball in the middle of the lane I feel it has a better chance of striking than previous polished balls. I personally am looking forward to trying more spheres with the Power Edge polish on it. I believe this ball is weaker than the Roto Grip Optimum Idol Pearl but stronger than the Storm Hyroad or 900 Global Xponent Pearl. This ball(if you leave it polished) will need some friction on the lane but when there is it will be a fun ball to throw. Like I said before the people that are going to love this ball the most is when your Phaze 2 is hooking too early or not going through the pins properly. Pull out the Phaze AI and let the best compliment to the Phaze 2 do the work for you.

Oh yeah I remember you had moved. I’ll take 3-4 lol. Lowest I got was an 7/8 but hard win against guys 16 18 that shoots 85.  Bowling is the same.

Btw, It’s funny… I was working on my thumb holes on my bench last night and thought about the mold thumb insert you made for me.  IT’s are starting to bug me. Top sleeves be coming off.

This is THE Goldilocks ball for me. My home center has an older high friction lane surface. This ball bridges the gap between too much hook in the Phase II and not enough hook in the original !Q. It’s the ball I choose when I don’t necessarily need control from balls like my Tour Dynamix, ION Pro or !Q Ruby. I drilled mine with a strong pin down layout to stay on line longer and still gets it confidently around the corner. This one is exactly what I’d hoped it would be.

St. Louis area.  Wife's job moved us again, been here a little over 8 years.  On pace for about 250 rounds this year.  Too many aches and pains to practice enough to get good.  Had a pretty good stretch this summer when I really knew where the ball was going and got below 1, but usually somewhere between 3-4.
