The all-new Hyped Series from Roto Grip has hit a new mark of success in their HP2 lineup. With the all-new Hyped Core wrapped with the proven VTC (Versatile Traction Control) Pearl Coverstock, this fresh SP2 Pearl delivered excellent results at a moderate price. First, let’s take a closer look at how the Hyped Pearl handled a THS.
Roto Grip did an outstanding job with its development of the all-new Hyped Core. Being a higher-speed and lower-rev player, I like how this core provided a predictable, well-rounded motion. Whether this ball was wrapped with the Pearl or the Hybrid coverstock, I could depend on it. Further, I liked how the Hyped Core, being a low RG or “centered heavy†ball, delivered a robust rolling motion without losing its striking power through the pins. This combination makes the Hyped Core the perfect THS companion for any straighter bowler like me. In my opinion, the Hyped Core is what Roto-Grip wanted to achieve - a medium flare or moderate hooking ball with the ideal ball motion! For a THS, the Hyped Core is fantastic, and I hope this core will stick around for a long time!
Being a high-speed/low-rev player, Pearl covers usually tend to fit my game best late at night or in broken-down conditions. The Hyped Pearl is no exception! This VTC Pearl Cover performed nicely as the first shift transitioned and excelled during the second shift of league night bowling. I liked how this cover read the wet/dry conditions. Further, I liked how it allowed me the opportunity to play deep inside without worrying if my rev rate would get me to the headpin. For once, I could actually relax late-night. I could trust this ball to maintain a sweeping and arching motion and strike, even when I was out of my comfort zone on those late-night conditions.
In conclusion, the Hyped Pearl is an excellent choice for low-rev/high-speed players on a late-night THS. The Hyped Pearl brings a welcoming look and motion to your game at a low to moderate price. Further, it has a warming Blue/Charcoal Cover that gives you a smooth, professional look going down the lane. Finally, it will be the perfect companion to the Hyped Hybrid or when your SP3 performance balls like Rubicon UC2 are simply too much to handle.
