I decided to drill my No Rules Pearl strong. With my lower ball speed I often like using stronger Pearl balls on fresh oil in med volume houses. The No Rules Pearl definitely didn't disappoint. I saw the same great reaction I enjoy from the Original No Rules on higher volumes.

The ball picks it's roll up in the midlane and continues very well through the back-end with the stronger layout. It should be noted that this is not typical of the ball itself, it is the result of the layout I chose for the ball and my low ball speed. That being said, the No Rules Pearl's strong core creates hook even before the lanes break down and the cleaner cover allows me to stick with the ball for longer. Having the ball remain useful longer is a big plus for me. The fact that the No Rules Pearl goes through the pins well from whatever angle I need to play with it makes this ball easily the best I've drilled for this purpose.

I've witnessed balls with less aggressive layouts thrown by people with more standard ball speed. They are clean and aggressive in the backend. The thing that stands out to me the most is that the No Rules Pearl is so driller friendly. Whatever layout you choose for the ball, it seems to perform very well.

Oh Baby!!! Another beast produced by Roto Grip! If you want a ball that is strong and continuous this is the ball to get your hands on. This asymmetrical peralized version of the original No Rules gets super clean through the front yet picks up in the back end and does not stop hooking. I have been using this on sport patterns around games 3 and on and this ball has been perfect. I did remove the polish to blend out the patterns a little bit better. Definitely one of my favorite balls in my arsenal right now.

Roto Grip No Rules Pearl Ball Review by PJ Haggerty

The new Roto Grip No Rules Pearl is a perfect compliment to the original No Rules.  By keeping the same engine in both balls, but changing the cover to a pearl, the No Rules Pearl is a perfect addition to the Roto Grip line.  As expected, the pearl cover creates more push through the front part of the lane and speeds up the response time when it sees friction.

I’ve drilled two No Rules pearls so far.  The first one is mapped out as: 5 x 4 ½ x 75. This puts the pin above my bridge and the mass bias just to the right of my thumb. I’ve been able to use this one on house conditions and sport patterns when the pattern blends out.  The layout and cover both create more length and a quicker response time than the first No Rules.

The second one is mapped out as 5 ½ x 4 x 35.  I also brought the surface down to 1000 with this one.  This one reads the lane much earlier because of the stronger mass bias as well as the surface.  I’ve been able to use this one more on sport patterns because of how much earlier it picks up.

The No Rules Pearl has become a favorite in my bag and it goes everywhere.  Go drill one of the best balls on the market today!

The NO Rules Pearl lives up to the hype!  I drilled mine 50/4/40.  This asymetric ball not only looks great with the green and silver swirl, but it hits amazing.  I have used it on house shots, tournament shots and I have been able to keep my angles tight or open the lane right up depending on the condition.  My RPM are about 375 and this ball goes left at the break point.  It never seems to lose much energy even when the lanes dry up. With the pearl coverstock it gets through the heads no problem.  The carry and power it delivers is one of the strongest asym balls I have thrown. You need the ball to set up earlier, just stay behind it a little more and watch the reaction change. Its my go to ball when I lose consistency on the pattern with other balls. I find it is a ball where hand position and what you want to do with it, the ball reacts on demand. I ordered another one of these balls because hitting power like this is hard to beat.  Must have ball!

No Rules Pearl is the newest ball in Roto Grip's HP4 line.  This is the most aggressive pearl ball I've ever thrown.  It hooks continuously throughout the lane, it has a very strong arc, it is a GREAT ball to use from deeper angles on heavier volume patterns once the transition has forced you inside.  It rolls heavy enough and has enough traction that you can project it or fade it through the soup in the middle knowing it's going to pull up and make a STRONG move through the pins.  It's just a strong ball in all phases of motion, but the surface finish gets it down the lane without bleeding energy.  It's quick off friction, but it doesn't burn or stand up.  It also doesn't need the shine taken off to compete on sport patterns, in fact it's better with the factory polish on it.  This is one of my personal favorites at the moment, it's very easy to throw with confidence.

The No Rules Pearl is the follow up pearlized version of the No Rules in the HP4 line of balls from Roto Grip. The pearl cover called Amped has an attractive onyx/neon green/silver color combination and is finished to a 1500 grit polish. This cover change from the micro DNA on the solid, creates a reaction more suited for medium oiled lane conditions. The No Rules pearl uses the same Chaotic core found in the solid version, which has an RG of 2.51, a differential of .053, and an intermediate differential of 0.018, in 15lb bowling balls.

I drilled the No Rules Pearl 4 x 5 ¾ x 2 ¾. I choose this layout mainly to maximize mistake room and generate a large amount of flare when bowling on high scoring league conditions. The first time using the ball subbing on a 39 foot high scoring house pattern, I shot games of 300, 245, 300 for 845. I would say that I succeeded in picking the proper layout for the conditions and ball. The No Rules pearl gives me good length, with a controllable change of direction at the breakpoint. Comparing  the No Rules pearl to my Dare Devil (both balls using the new Amped cover) with a layout of 4 ¾ x 5 ¼ x 2 ½ on the Dare Devil; the No Rules has a slightly later read of the midlane, and has a more defined change of direction, and roll toward the pocket than the Dare Devil. As I remember some of the shapes that some older equipment made throughout the years, the No Rules pearl reminds me most of my Gravity Shift, in that both balls seemed to be easy to get through the heads and to the breakpoint, but didn’t over react once hitting the dry part of the lane, as sometimes pearl balls do for me. I’ve used the No Rules Pearl on a few different house patterns so far, all with good success. I seem to be able to chase the pattern in on the lane, as the oil breaks down, or go a little straighter and bump the wall on tighter typical league conditions.

I really like the combination of cover and core with the No Rules pearl. Also, Roto Grip is really on to something with this pearl Amped cover, as both the No Rules pearl and the Dare Devil rolls great for me. Thank you for taking the time to read my review of the No Rules pearl by Roto Grip.
